📍Rubanda District The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda is currently undertaking a monitoring visit in Rubanda district under the Agricultural Governance Results Improvement Project (AGRIP), implemented through a Results-Based Financing framework. As part of the Project, Uganda Community Based Association for Women and Children Welfare (UCOBAC) is supporting capacity building for land management institutions and providing technical backstopping to land registration offices to strengthen service delivery and institutional performance. This work is being implemented with the support of UN-HABITAT through the LAND-at-scale Uganda Program. The room is heating up as S4HL coalition members meet to dig deeper into provisions around property rights in the Marriage Bill, 2024. The Bill currently before the parliament committee for further scrutiny provides for key property rights for spouses. #S4HL #WomenLandRights

This morning, the delegation from Liberia’s land sector paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development (MLHUD). The visit provided an opportunity to engage with key officials, including the @ministry_lands Permanent Secretary, Commissioner for Land Administration, Chief Government Valuer, Ministry Spokesperson, CSO partners, and other land officers. Formed in 2013, the National Land Policy aimed to promote efficient, equitable, and optimal land use to support socio-economic developmetransformation,nt. While progress has been made in areas such as land rights administration and regulatory frameworks, challenges persist, including gaps in tenure security, protection of vulnerable groups' land rights, and institutional coordination. The draft NLP 2024 builds on these achievements, emphasizing sustainable and inclusive land use for socio-economic transformation and its key objectives include: 📷 Strengthening land's contribution to sectors like agriculture and infrastructure. Formed in 2013, the National Land Policy aimed to promote efficient, equitable, and optimal land use to support socio-economic development and transformation. While progress has been made in areas such as land rights administration and regulatory frameworks, challenges persist, including gaps in tenure security, protection of vulnerable groups' land rights, and institutional coordination. 📷 Harmonizing tenure regimes to ensure equitable access and security. 📷 Streamlining land rights administration for efficient service delivery. This week, UCOBAC is participating in a 5-day @GLTNnews Write-shop at Fairway Hotel under the @LandAtScale_ug project. This convening aims to consolidate findings, analyze outcomes, and document both the knowledge produced &the impact achieved in through the project.
