@GordonGChang As far as I'm aware, China is still classified as an "adversary", not "enemy" - and is a non-combatant. Of course, if a demented Trump listened to a demented Chang, that could change ... and everone would lose.

Another China tanker, the Bright Gold, has just exited the Persian Gulf. Seize this vessel, President Trump. It will be hard to win this war if you let China, an enemy combatant, do whatever it wants.

@The95408134 @ellymelly Idiot. I also know there are other forms of energy and electricity typically makes up less than half of a typical Sydneysiders energy bill.

Baffles my mind, in the era of large grid scale batteries, and ever more efficient Solar panels and farms, that so many outback remote communities are till 100% reliant on diesel fuel for town power... abc.net.au/news/2026-03-2…

@OMGTheMess He wasn't talking about EVs - he was talking about rural towns and their power supplies. And I totally agree with him.

@ick_real If you are an Aussie, you offer to the point of insistence. Or drop a slab in his boot from time to time.

If a coworker has a car and lives near my house, and drives me to work every day, am I obligated to chip in for gas?

@Jason05888857 @magataotao I don't know how old you are, but if you think an 85 year old person doesn't know himself, I'm guessing that you're only recently out of your teens. Read what I write. You'll see I don't propagandise for China - I resist China-hate merchants and ignoramuses.

China’s ambassador to Australia, Xiao Qian, argued in a March 2026 60 Minutes interview that China is a democracy in its "own way, with Chinese characteristics". Yep, this is exactly what we have been taught since we were in primary schools: “Chinese Communist Party is Chinese people’s saviour. No Chinese Communist Party, No new China. China is a democracy with Chinese characteristics.” These are all pure lies. Any Chinese living in China knows this - in China when you use Chinese social platforms such as WeChat or Weibo to type something like “Xi Jinping is a dictator”, then instantly and immediately your message will get deleted. And because of Digital ID there is absolutely no privacy so whoever posting this message will result in a Chinese police force knock on his/her door. All CCP is telling are lies. All CCP is good at is spreading propagandas. And guess what? It worked. It worked on Chinese people and also it worked on the people in Western countries. I often receive comments that some Australians think America is bad and China is good. Oh My God!

@chinafutureclub @wenjie76 Absolute magic. Stroll with your restaurant's waiter through the hundreds of exotic plastic containers of the best and most exotic seafood on earth - then sit and nibble starters while what you chose is cooked. There is nowhere else like it.

@AusExplained Really nice of you to think about that but you can't. If there's no fuel then we can't operate anything. Unfortunately if crops are ready to get off and we can't get them off then the food will rot in the ground. Maybe just vote this government out!

@jvscricket @missrobinson You have identified the problem that I have already several times described the solution for. In a nutshell, a financially viable way to equip 200 roadhouses with a turbine, big battery, charging stands, apron & access, and user pays POS facilities.

@sydney_ev /3 I have elsewhere posted how I believe our long-haul transport could be almost totally electrified in two years for about $1 billion ... which is chicken-feed compared to the $60 billion about to be wasted on the Gosford HSR misbegotten upcoming debacle.

@sydney_ev /2 This formula can be found all over China. It is one of the most striking things you see looking out a HSR window You see a couple of houses or a village - and there it is ... ... a wind turbine. Every time. Because it works. /3

So Europe retain their tariffs on our agricultural exports and we dump 99% of ours? We get limited on ag exports? We have to dump names like feta etc? They get to export their EVs

@wheelreinvent @TonyHWindsor @AntonyGreenElec You have absolutely no understanding what you are talking about. Single member electorates with a necessarily winner-take-all result is the problem you believe you have identified. Preference voting has nothing to do with it.
