@thenerdking215 I'm fine with people picking Red and saying it's "shameful, but pragmatic", but so many Reds: - "didn't know 'everyone' literally means everyone" (great reading skills) - "my family wouldn't pick Blue" (60% did) - "we should all pick Red and survive" (realistically impossible)

@milkupo_ @GillieAmanita I'm sorry, but I don't think we're going anywhere with this. I mean no offense, really, but maybe let's just both say "okay" and move on.

@LandlessPrince @GillieAmanita is that even the original poster of the question? The one I saw was worded completely differently and had a different pfp, plus it had a poll attached

I'm a blue-presser HOWEVER I talked to a red-presser and it's not necessarily a selfish or antisocial choice. In that red's mind, blue is guaranteed to lose, because when your life is on the line, they believe more people will press red than was represented in an online poll. 1/

@milkupo_ @GillieAmanita Read it closely: if 'not press any button' is indeed possible - those who didn't press any - will survive only if majority picks Blue. If majority picks Red, they die as well.

@LandlessPrince @GillieAmanita like okay sure how are coma patients choosing a button then? How about people who are paralysed? If you try and say 'everyone means everyone' then some people are never going to press a button at all and nothing will happen because the results will be pending forever.

@milkupo_ @GillieAmanita "Everyone" literally meant everyone, so you were arguing for a dilemma you DIDN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND TO BEGIN WITH.

@LandlessPrince @GillieAmanita and I'm going based on the assumption that 'everyone' in this scenario means 'everyone with the capacity to choose' in this. Like infants aren't going to be able to make a decision because they don't consciously choose things atp, same for coma or brain damaged patients etc.

@milkupo_ @GillieAmanita Vulnerable here means people like children, who won't figure the thing out and lots of them will press Blue no matter what. You don't seem to be vulnerable to potentially getting yourself killed, no, But voting Blue is the only way for THEM to survive, just a matter of values.

@LandlessPrince @GillieAmanita I can't control what other people do, or whether or not they press the button. I am in the most vulnerable groups (very physically disabled, poor, minority) so why shouldn't I preserve my own life? If blue wins, great! If it loses, at least I get to live.

Świetnie to opisuje Ayn Rand w Atlasie Zbuntowanym. Niebieski przycisk to ludzie którzy łączą kropki i widzą szerszy obraz. Czerwony przycisk to ludzie którzy widzą tylko czubek swojego nosa. Wybieram niebieski przycisk.

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@iambored2006 @GillieAmanita It's not to save me, it's to save those most vulnerable who for whatever reason might choose "the wrong side". How are you all so sure no one you love, your children, your parents - would be on the Blue side? Caring for each other is the right way, even if we die for it.

@LandlessPrince @GillieAmanita Nah. You should be ashamed of gambling your life and asking others to risk theirs to save you. You have no self-preservation instinct, which in itself is shameful.

@milkupo_ @GillieAmanita It's unrealistic. You're asking for the impossible, because you don't want to risk your own life to assure the life of most vulnerable. Hitting >50% Blue is infinitely easier than 100% Red, you'd just let people die, and knowing results - many would perish.

@LandlessPrince @GillieAmanita but you could also say that blues pressing the button is the only factor that contributes to any potential death. If no one presses the blue button no one dies. Red is 'do nothing' and blue is 'better hope half of the entire world's population risks their lives for you'

@KuracKoKeksic @bunburyoudoujp They would surely have higher Red voter %, and with their numbers, in the actual real world scenario (everyone voting) that would mean Blue's would die.

Whole Red vs Blue button discourse is so misunderstood... 🔴🔵 The question was: "Are you important enough for your survival to be crucial, Or would your life become worthless without the ones you're afraid to lose?" You're either afraid to die, or afraid to risk losing someone.

@Catholicizm1 Silly women think they can be intimidating if they act like an angry man. Truth is, angry man is intimidating - because he's a man. Women who think they can be "scary" are just cringe.

@aas_ker 1. Slows overthinking, boosts confidence, gives sense of purpose, something to pour your frustration into. 2. Dopamine detox, normalizes default mood. 3. It'll make you want to do things, walking around helps thinking clearly, but don't lay down or you'll get lazy.

@aas_ker My advice: 1. Training - any type of physical activity, get yourself tired regularly. 2. Less media - only read and watch stuff you are genuinely interested in, NO MEMES. 3. Let yourself be bored - spend a while in silence, doing nothing, sit, walk around, but DON'T LAY DOWN.

@SmugAlana XXI century - people no longer love, no longer believe love exists, so they assume the only motivation to ever care about someone must be sexual, pleasure is the only thing they crave. 😔
