The only reason "a voice" was even proposed is because the services and support that were currently in place, were not working, the "gap" still existed. As a precursor to a voice alternative, the first thing that must be done is an immediate forensic audit of all services and funds provided to indigenous people. Get an idea of how much money actually makes it to the people it was meant for - exactly as we have with charities, for every $1.00 donated, X cents makes it to those in need, X cents goes to administration etc. Once we know which services are wasteful and which services provide best value for indigenous, then we can provide an alternative to the voice.

Australia's Future Fund (founded in 2006) states on its website - "The Future Fund is Australia's sovereign wealth fund. Our purpose is to invest for the benefit of future generations of Australians". So... Could a future government direct the Future Fund to invest in/build/ fully own a nuclear power station, with the purpose of providing a stable, cheap source of baseload power for future generations of Australians/Australian businesses. I think this should be done. First and foremost, we owe future Australians a cheap, reliable source of baseload energy - cheap energy allows everything else to remain cheap. Manufacturing, transport, food production, even heating and cooling in the home - wouldn't it be great if energy was so cheap, it wasn't even given a second thought or consideration.

@rtay_b @dyerjonathan My better half wrote an entire new business plan / proposal with Chat GPT for a new opportunity for their family business, whilst at the hairdresser! Ran it 3 times with some fine-tuning and finished with a great result!

Well there's an interesting point to dwell on. Did we wrongly assume that catching up with mates was only to get up to date with the latest happenings...but actually there's something deeper physiologically - animals including humans need face to face interaction to stave off loneliness. Gotta work out how to put this in better words, but it seems social media has enabled us to know exactly what everyone else is up to, and maybe that's what people want, but it's not what people need - if loneliness is on the rise.
