So in the edge case that urea doesn't land in Au this year: Brainstorming strategies to reduce N requirement &/or increase yield under constrained N. Is it a year to burn stubbles? Tillage (with what fuel!) ? What else?

@Oscarthefarmer @therealbiztang @WheatWatcher @johngbennett Can the gov grow a pair, call some sort of force majeure, tear up the contracts, put a WA style domestic reserve on, and tax a % of export revenue. With a 100% penalty for revenue shifting. Won't cost them any votes. Hell, it would nearly get me to vote for the reds.

youtube.com/watch?v=8TOnyA… Does anyone have any verified numbers on the N content of Green Lightning solution? I know it’s not what they claim (claim is 200 L = 100 kg urea)

Every 1 million tonnes of lost urea production in the world in 2026 reduces grain production by 7-8 million tonnes. A sobering thought.

@LachlanNass @AlboMP Spending blowout has already happened. But taking demand out of economy by slowing down spending not popular.

@Oscarthefarmer Pretty much there at household level. Heavy industry, including ag, a different beast, though.

@Charlie_Bensen @WheatWatcher They are no threat now. But without intervention, they almost certainly would have nukes by now. A non controversial statement. Would a nuclear armed Iran be more or less destructive than current war?

@dyerjonathan @WheatWatcher Considering the Director of the US National Counterterrorism Centre just resigned citing that Iran posed no imminent threat, and that the war occurred due to pressure from the Israeli lobby, that should give a fair indication of who's the greatest of two evils

Glyphosate - also a future issue? The production of glyphosate and it's inputs is highly energy intensive. These charts show pricing comparisons against coal/gas.

@dyerjonathan @consettfarming @WheatWatcher Remember that Iran itself was working well as a secular democracy until US interests decided they didnt like the idea of paying fair royalties on the oil... so put in a non democratic regime to get their goal.

@Charlie_Bensen @WheatWatcher History, even biblical history, shows that sometimes evil needs to be defeated. Yes, during war, bad and evil things happen. The lesser of 2 evils is sll we get to choose sometimes. As I said off the top, I dont know which is the lesser currently, I hope it's this one.

@dyerjonathan @WheatWatcher As a Christian I don't think any ideology can only be defeated through force. Especially when it involves the genocide and murder of the innocent. But I suppose Christian values seem to be a rare thing these days unfortunately

Brains trust: Steerable axles on multi-axle chaser bins. Yes or no. Why? There are no sand hills here, but there is plenty of road between paddocks.
