My learning from this past week...
“When something in your life dies - whether it be a job, a hobby, or a dream - I encourage you not to focus on what could have been and what is lost but instead to look for the new life and the new opportunities that result. A new season is here.” Ryan Hall
Over a decade ago, I taught spin at least 3 times a week and loved doing it.
Until I didn’t.
I have learned that doing something because you have done it doesn’t mean you need to keep going.
So, I walked away and pursued other passions.
But over the past year or so, I have had that itch to see if I could still teach a class. And this week, when an instructor wasn’t able to attend, I volunteered and taught the class. It was amazing. At least for me :)
It was a good reminder to be ready for your opportunity before it happens.
Will I go back to teaching a class routinely? Probably not.
But it was nice to see if I could get the same energy and passion for doing something that was my regular routine in the past. It truly was like riding a bike.
Things that you loved in the past might not evoke the same emotion when you experience them again, but revisiting some of the things that brought us joy in the past is always a nice reminder.
3 More Things I Learned This Week
1. Gratitude for what you have often leads to getting more or at least feeling like you have more. Sometimes the toughest lessons remind you to appreciate what you currently have.
2. Routine is crucial for my own success. The habits you build to get to an outcome are often more important than the final goal.
3. Sometimes, we work harder when others are watching. Learn to work that hard when they aren’t watching, and you will find continued success.
What was one lesson you learned this week?
