@JoFrhwld I just wanted to say, this exact question came up in my text analysis class yesterday and when we googled it, your tweet was the first thing to pop up

The word “prohertrib” comes up when I mess around with the pretrained GloVE gigaword model & do vector analogies like uk-london+france. But when I google it, it only shows up as code output techy posts about word embeddings. Any idea what this word is?

Let’s be clear: the Department of Education exists because states wouldn’t fund poor schools, wouldn’t protect kids with disabilities, wouldn’t follow civil rights law, especially in the South. Anyone calling to abolish it is calling to turn back the clock—and we can’t let that happen.
Greg Abbott@GregAbbott_TX

At the White House right now. Headed to see President @realDonaldTrump return control of education back to the states—where it belongs.

It's not that the kid is wrong, it's that he's wrong with utter and serene confidence. When people ask me why I wrote The Death of Expertise, it wasn't ignorance that compelled me to write, it was this kind of unbreakable, completely self-assured stupidity that did it.

This is exactly the problem. You can't take the "move fast and break things" mentality of Silicon Valley into the federal government, a place where if you break things, people die, or have their rights violated, or can't access essential services.

Musk: I should say we will make mistakes. We won't be perfect. But when we make a mistake we'll fix it quickly. So for example with USAID, one of the things we accidentally canceled briefly was Ebola prevention.

🚀 Launching a new #Stata package #geoflow that allows users to generate spatial arcs. This package is a culmination of over a year of work for building stable core dependencies. It also brings us one step closer to flexibly plot network data (more on generic applications later this year). Given the complex structure of spatial network data (nodes, flows, attributes, projections etc.), the use is not so straightforward but I will add more examples and tutorials soon. From now till March, there are several trainings scheduled around maps and spatial data so expect some improvements in the coming months. Do give it a try! More info: github.com/asjadnaqvi/sta… Up soon on #SSC!
