My husband made me take new headshots for my upcoming book because I've been using the same one for like seven years. I hate pictures of myself. Please just tell me which one of these to use for the back of the book.

So I can move my trachea from side to side like this, I always thought it was completely normal but now I’m learning this is a hEDS/EDS thing? Is anyone else’s trachea this flexible?

@ThePOTSPostman I can do this but didn’t know it wasn’t normal! I don’t have EDS but do have some signs of hypermobility. I’ve never seen this listed as something to check for hypermobility though.

These mesh 3M Aura mask covers are new. I tried the standard fabric ones previously. They attached securely without compromising the seal but were not breathable. Here's a picture of the new product line, "lightest mesh." I will buy some of these. No COI either.

Having a collection of fancy (professional & pretty) mask covers has truly been a game changer in my travels and speaking career. My favorites come from this Etsy creator. They are super breathable mesh designs. No COI etsy.com/listing/438106…

I won't design frames with different bridge heights for every size, as this would exponentially increase the current frame dimensions. I will show you how to easily adjust the frame. For frames with high bridges, we are currently experimenting with a completely new solution (the new design will be announced in two months). If you have a better adjustment solution, please let us know.

#sipmask users. How do you deal with the logistics of storing the straw on a plane or other areas after you're done drinking? water bottles have to close so what do you do with the straw?

@livewithmecfs Yes, there were earlier signs but I wasn’t able to see them as such except in hindsight. My stamina was never back to 100% after a bout of mono. Had episodes of brain fog & fatigue which I didn’t recognize as PEM. Had 2 cases of post-viral fatigue before developing full-blown ME.

Are There Warning Signs Before "Abrupt Onset" of ME/CFS? I became sick on 3/1/02, but in hindsight, I see earlier signs of growing dysfunction. One expert told me this is common. How about you? If your ME/CFS was abrupt onset, were there earlier signs? livewithcfs.blogspot.com/2026/03/are-th…

@PanickedFoodie I did physio for 9 months. I don’t thinking sped up recovery, since overall it took about 2 years, but it did mean that I was able to regain full range of motion. There are lots of exercises on YouTube, this one looks good because it provides progression youtu.be/SV7exHYLVHU?si…

Any tips for dealing with a frozen shoulder? Just got diagnosed. Looks like there are 3 stages, freezing, frozen, and thawing. Pretty sure I'm in the freezing stage? Looks like it just has to run its course over 2 yrs or so?

@Biff234523 If cup masks tend to fit you, consider the Moldex M4620. SO breathable, sturdy, easy to don and doff. Only issue is that the nose isn’t adjustable, so it either fits you or it doesn’t. moldex.com/product/respir…

I ended up trying the Laianzhi HYX1002 KN100 first, since I just couldn’t pass up the design heading into the warmer months. But, unfortunately, they seem to be subpar in every aspect (at least for me) when compared to the Aura, other than the fact that they look much cooler. Right upon opening the package, I noticed a much harsher “chemical” smell than what comes with the auras, although you obviously get a bit of that with any mask. I don’t think it’s unbearable, but it’s definitely more of a thing. The straps are quite a bit looser than the 3M braided elastic (9210+), probably more on par with the 3M polyisoprene (9205+), but I think probably even a little looser than that. It’s hard to tell, since I haven’t used the 9205+ in a long time, and the Laianzhi straps are also a bit less stretchy than either of the 3M straps are (which might sound like it doesn’t correspond to a looser fit, but in this case, it’s both simultaneously). The nose wire is definitely not anywhere near as strong as the aura. I noticed what I felt like was a bit of air escaping at the nose bridge after my first molding, and it took a few tries to fix it, but I still didn’t really feel confident that it was going to stay in place since the wire isn’t as stiff. Maybe that feeling will turn out to be unfounded when I actually wear it for longer, though. I’ve noticed air escaping before on the auras too, but usually all it takes is one additional molding to fix it, and then the issue never re-appears for me. An annoying aspect is that the mask was constantly touching my mouth, something I’ve never experienced before, because it doesn’t have as much of a rigid structure as the Aura does. I’m still going to use them - like I mentioned in my original post, I feel like it’s a good time to experiment when transmission is relatively low. They’re probably going to be more than fine for me if I’m quickly running into a store for 5-10 minutes. But I just don’t see them being a direct replacement at this point, definitely not for high-risk situations.

The only respirator that I’ve worn for the past 3 years is the 9210+ 3M Aura. I’m planning on trying something new this spring, resulting from a combination of: - All of the tech advancements made in this space by makers over the course of the past few years - Relatively low case counts this time of year (especially how we’re trending right now - with the lowest overall numbers since 2023, but YMMV locally), so it’s a good time to experiment - My increasing confidence in my layered precautions, as I’ve only continued to learn more about URTI prophylaxis and about SARS2 - I want something that looks cool Right now, I think I’m considering: - Laianzhi HYX1002 KN100 (ombré/gradient) - Trident Project 3 FFP3 - BreatheTeq KN95 headstrap model All 3 options contain head straps, nose foam, and an aluminum nose wire, just like the Aura, which are all essentials to me at this point when it comes to a quality mask. As far as I know, the WellBefore 3D Pro is the other notable mask that would fit the bill for having those quality components, but their consistent use of GenAI in advertisements takes them off of the table for me. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

@Biff234523 Zimi One is worth trying, it’s the most breathable of the Zimi filters. I’m waiting for it to become available in the L size, only available in S and M right now.

@Biff234523 Breatheteq earloops are super breathable, much more than the Auras, but I find they fit too close to my mouth (and I have to convert them to head straps). The head strap version is smaller for some reason and doesn’t come in as nice colours.
