@JQuillinTV I knew your grandfather well. He was a great man of honor and truly loved the Lord and was a true servant. He was kind and gentle and I always appreciated that about him. I will be praying for your grandmother, Linda and all of your family.

Late yesterday morning my grandfather took his first steps into heaven. It was an honor to be his caregiver for the last couple months of his life. His final wishes were that I continue to do what I love and I will honor him every single day by doing so. I’m gonna take a couple of days to celebrate the life he lived and then get right back to doing what I love.

You can’t be full of the Holy Spirit and full of yourself at the same time.

I did not want to go to church today. My husband home sick, exhaustion from the week, and my annoyance at [gestures toward the vague "people"]. I went, because it would be unthinkable for my kids to not go. And I know I needed to go. And I hung back from Sunday School for awhile sipping coffee, and finally snuck in the back. I did share some thoughts in the conversation when asked to participate. We were talking about sharing your testimony. And I said that one of the main hard parts is that it's hard to look good, and make Jesus look good at the same time. We are the sinners, he is the Savior. A testimony isn't "I'm awesome, and God made me more awesome." It doesn't work that way. And to be honest, we also think the equation is, I once was lost, then Jesus found me, and now my life is wonderful. And the truth is, our life isn't always wonderful. We need Jesus every day--every hour. It's not an equation for a happy life. It's exposing to others that we have a need--that we are needy. And Christ is sufficient. A testimony is to his sufficiency, his faithfulness, day in and day out. He promises that we will suffer actually, but he will never leave us or forsake us. And we still wrestle against our sin nature. And he keeps on forgiving, and healing. I felt dumb...still a bad attitude on my part. But one woman, who honestly feels like one of the people who has made my life difficult, came up to me afterwards and thanked me for my thoughts and we just had the best conversation. I was nervous and it ended up being wonderful. And the rest of church was still hard. My heart weighs heavy for my husband being sick during harvest, and I don't know what to do about it. But I'm glad I went. I got more support, reached out for some more help this week, and I was able to help someone else. Life is messy. God is good.

If you're single and desire to get married: Don't look for someone who will "complete you", and put you first. Look for someone who is already complete in Christ, and puts Jesus first.

@chipgaines Same in our family. Third grandson going off to college is just as hard on grand mamas as well as mamas.

If we’re Jesus followers, it is crucial that we not despise those who despise us or treat with unkindness those who are unkind. To do so requires determination. Real work. A proactive mindset. The choice to be energized by the Spirit. Nothing about it will come naturally to us.

Undone over this flash flood tragedy at Camp Mystic girls camp in the Texas hill country. Please pray with me for these beloved children, the families of those confirmed lost and traumatized kids & camp workers. Praying with all my heart for miraculous rescues to still be ahead.

I know how difficult an operation like this is to pull off, and thank our military members and intel community for their patriotism and professionalism. As a combat pilot, I’ve noticed that folks without combat experience are often the first to rush into dropping a bomb. I’m concerned about how President Trump and his administration made this decision to put pilots in harm’s way and our country on the edge of war with Iran. It will take time to see how successful these strikes were in degrading Iran’s nuclear capability. The next steps must be to work to contain this, deter Iran from retaliating and escalating further, and use every diplomatic tool possible to protect Americans and our interests, including preventing Iran from restarting their nuclear program.

@garonnevik Been there and done that for my dad as well. I wholeheartedly agree with you all celebrations and funeral services should happen immediately.

This is why these things should be right after death. Don't drag it on forever. I don't want to be dealing with this for weeks. I'm glad we can all be there. But man, I just don't wanna.

Less than 2 weeks until my dad's memorial service. I know it'll be fun to see my siblings and cousins. I know it'll be fun to fly somewhere with just my husband again. I mentally know this. But literally every step of planning the logistics of this has made me super grumpy.
