@PaulBiancardi Can you live scout your potential “PLAY IN” opponent. The same you can if you are on building for the round of 32?

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes insight into working as an assistant coach once you find out who your opponent is in the NCAA tournament—something my coaching friends can attest to. As an assistant coach, this is one of your most exciting work assignments of your career. You finally get out of your steel cage of conference play and face a brand-new opponent. It’s refreshing, but the workload is much heavier because you’re preparing for a completely new team. You’re on the phone calling coaches, getting scouting reports emailed to you, and breaking down film that managers and video staff have already edited for potential opponents. Then you have to devise a scouting report, start to spoon-feed it to your team the next day, and teach them the new player tendencies. One coach works on the upcoming opponent, while the other coaches focus on potential future opponents. You work into the early morning and then get up after only a few hours of sleep. You’re running on adrenaline. #marchmadness The Head Coach will be tied up with media duties for the next couple of hours, then will meet with the staff and begin working on the game plan.

It would be nice to see the Northeastern Huskies back in the America East. This would give the students a chance to even drive to game versus flying and seeing their Huskies play.

@UMBCAthletics @IndianaFootball I remember when Northeastern was on the AE with you guys. Any school that keeps Vermont from dancing is good in my book.

Coldest arena I ever played in. In fact for shoot around no one took off their sweats. Had dead spots just like the old Boston Garden.

@HelmetAddict Went there for a Canisius v @GoNUmbasketball game in the late 1980s (I worked for the team at NU), what a cavernous building for the Griffs to play a game in...

I’m not his agent, but I do know what success in college basketball looks like. When a coach builds up two programs, wins, and cares deeply about mentoring, teaching valuable lessons, and serving as a role model, that’s the person you want to hire. Mike Jones is all of the above. @UNCG_MikeJones Coach Jones has a long and successful résumé in the game, it could be a big blessing in disguise that UNCG went in a different direction. If the only goal Is the NCAA Tournament or win the regular season title at UNCG he didn’t do it-but he was winning (57–33 in conference games.) The fact that his two best players left for greener pastures: imagine still having Kenyon Giles now at Wichita State (19 ppg) or Donovan Atwell at Texas Tech (45% from three) A Final Four assistant at VCU, he then took Radford to their third NCAA tournament as he won the Big South Tournament in 2018. He won two Big South regular-season titles in 2019 and 2020. He was also a two-time Big South Coach of the Year (2018, 2020) and the SoCon co‑Coach of the Year (Media) in 2023. He is a thorough and excellent evaluator of talent and knows how to develop players. Don’t forget Javonte Green at Radford (2015–2019); he became the first player in program history to make an NBA roster. Carlik Jones was next. The profession knows success, Mike Jones will be a head coach again.

Time for a LIVE ALBUM!!!
The Head & The Heart@headandtheheart

Fifteen years ago, we were traveling with burned CD’s and cut up old blue jeans, stamped with “The Head And The Heart” to put the copies in. We had no expectations and a full tank of gas. We had songs and we had each other…Our roots had grown and we were about to begin a wild journey. In those early days before record labels and long tours, we had a demo of “Lost In My Mind” that we had recorded in our apartment in Seattle in late 2009. It was loose, imperfect, and honest in a way that only first attempts can be. We’re so excited to dust it off and present it to you today! theheadandtheheart.lnk.to/lostinmymind Listening back to it, we’re transported to that apartment, when all that existed was belief in our songs and each other. On May 1st, we’re releasing a 15th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of our debut record. The album has been fully remastered, and we’re including seven additional demos and unreleased versions from those early days- songs before they were polished, before we knew where those roots would take us. There will be a limited vinyl pressing available, along with the release on all digital platforms. The vinyl run is small and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Preorders are live now: theheadandtheheart.lnk.to/theheadandtheh… Over the last year, playing these songs again has brought us back to the beginning, to that feeling of possibility. And there’s way more coming soon. More dates, More nights to celebrate what this record has meant to us, and hopefully to you. Thank you for growing with us. Thank you for staying. Fifteen years later, it still feels like we’re just getting started.
