A quick glimpse into one of our high school training sessions.
Good training isn’t overcomplicated—it’s intentional.
Consistency is key!

I don’t expect any coach to love it when his players hit the portal, especially ones that are moving up. It hurts and is frustrating. You develop a kid only for him to choose “greener grass.”
But coaches that make it feel like a divorce are hurting themselves and the player!
Not all coaches take the high road, but for those that do, this video is a great reminder of why we should be coaching in the first place!

"Any high school coach telling your kid that they can't play multiple sports is telling you that because it's in their best interest.
The second that coach tells you that, you should be out."@gregolsen88
You're not just taking away the sport.
You're taking away the memories.

As my football career came to an end last weekend — and with it my time in this program and in college football — I felt like I needed to share my thoughts on where the game is today. My path was far from normal; not many guys play seven years. But even with my unique journey, it’s clear that the current landscape of college football is becoming worse for the game.
Somewhere along the way, we lost what made this sport special.
We lost sight of the TEAM.
Too many players are focused only on what’s best for them, not what’s best for the people in the locker room next to them. I’ve played with a lot of great teammates, but even then, it felt like some always had one foot out the door — ready to leave the moment something didn’t go their way. The transfer portal made it way too easy to run from adversity instead of growing through it.
I can’t explain how many lessons I learned from not getting what I wanted right away. From being humbled. From having to earn everything the hard way. Every decision I made, I tried to make for the team. For something bigger than myself.
College athletics is supposed to shape you into a leader — someone who can handle adversity, communicate with respect, and go into the world a better, stronger version of who you were when you came in. But the new age of college sports has kids leaving at the first sign of trouble, talking to coaches however they want, and expecting everything to go their way.
I’m all for players having a voice and choosing what’s best for their future. But in what part of life do you get everything exactly how you want it? That’s not real. Yet college athletics has created that illusion, and it’s hurting a game that has saved so many lives — including kids from poverty and tough situations who needed football to survive.
For me, getting an education meant everything. I didn’t grow up with much. Football was my only ticket to pay for school. Not everyone’s situation is the same, and I get that. But I’ll always believe that the team, the struggle, and the lessons learned are what make this sport powerful.
And I hope someday we find our way back to that.

Aaron Rodgers on if receivers want more targets:
“If somebody wants more targets I welcome the conversation. But I usually say let’s watch the film let’s see . let's talk about football. I love doing that. I think what young players learn is that practice is very very important and when you show it week in and week out in practice it gives a quarterback a lot of confidence to come your way with the football."

Another coach asked me if my girls are nervous for the State meet.
I said, “No. We don’t believe in being nervous. We’re excited.”
She looked confused, so I explained:
Before a big race, the body floods itself with chemicals to get ready — call it adrenaline, call it endorphins.
That’s biology. You can’t stop it.
But you can decide how to interpret it.
If you tell yourself it’s fear, it becomes nerves.
If you tell yourself it’s excitement, it becomes fuel.
The body doesn’t know the difference.
Only your story does.
So when the butterflies show up Saturday, we’ll just smile.
Because it means the race matters.
And I’d rather have butterflies than no fire at all.

Cooper Kupp's mindset is a blueprint for the inner game of performance.
“From Monday through Saturday, I do everything I can to be the best version of myself…Once I step on the field, it doesn’t matter. The results don’t matter. I get to play from victory, not for victory.”
You can’t play free until you’ve done the work.
Preparation builds confidence.
Detachment unlocks freedom.
When you combine the two, you perform from a place of peace, not pressure.

Self-awareness defines @oregonfootball. For Coach Lanning, growth starts long before the film session. After every game, players write down their reflections — what they did well, what needs to improve, and where they can level up.
It’s not about being told what went wrong — it’s about recognizing it yourself before anyone else does. That builds stronger players, and even stronger teams.
