@WSOnlineNews @FortySacks I wish I could read the original article. I am a poor heritage Canadian. However, I trust the commentary on it.

@RobynUrback If one of the pilots was from India, would you be asking the CEO to give a statement in Hindi? Like come on, everybody in Canada understands English.

I get why people are rolling their eyes at this (and normally I would too!) but one of the deceased pilots was a francophone from Quebec. It would've been nice if the CEO spoke a few words to his family, in their language
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca

PM Mark Carney says he is "very disappointed" in Air Canada CEO's English-only message of condolence: "It doesn't matter the circumstances, but particularly in these circumstances, lack of judgment and lack of compassion."

American protectionism will heal the Nations of Man
Nikita Bier@nikitabier

@Antunes1 We’ve love to hear your thoughts about living in Portugal. I’m sure you have plenty of great stories about your day to day experience there. Of course, you’re welcome to continue chiming in on America politics. We just won’t send money overseas for that content.

@RyanWarIsGood I know, but this is a question of Ideology. Canadians must excise post-nationalism from their consciousness. And the Republic of Alberta is a post-national project.

Loyalty to the Canadian Nation is the only way to end Gay Race Communism. Albertan Independence is terminally infected from the start.

It’s not up for debate among us, but a sizeable number of people living in Canada seek our dissolution and confrontation will continue. I will applaud WS for having the good sense to let Daniel Tyrie write an op-ed, and choose not to slander them for allowing a challenger to attempt to refute his claims. While some bloodsports LIVE debate is maybe exciting, well thought-out articles are likely going to provide more depth as well as extending the spotlight on the topic we want at the forefront of politics in Canada.

@LaserAud @Dfildebrandt @DanielTyrie @UCCavalier I think our existence isnt up for debate with foreigners regardless of what side of the aisle they are on. I also think if a debate is what Western Standard was after they would just hold an actual in perspn debate, but we both know she would decline. But yes her vitriol shined.

I think it’s good to expose the petty vitriol and the mental framework coming from an ethnic minority who considers themselves “on the Right,” but choose to dismiss the founding peoples of Canada from asserting themselves as a Nation. Her emphasis on the Durham report, for example, is enlightening and should compel those who disagree with her to provide a substantive rebuttal. No harm in dialogue

Kate Harrision "For a long time in Canada, there was a consensus on immigration." "Systemic repeated failures that really started under the last government have undermined that system." "And the AG Report confirms a lot of the skepticism and cynicism that people have about the integrity of our system." "...Are we expected to believe that everything there is going just fine?" "...this is why there needs to be some accountability on the part of the Minister and the government for having mismanaged this program for so long." @KatlynHarrison

youtu.be/vT08uSLUdIU?si… Of course we all have pleasant one on one experiences with immigrants, but this is not what the “immigration consensus” is, nor does this inform most people’s opinions, historically, on the scale/origins of immigration policy. This is a great, short documentary disproving the modern narrative of Canada’s “immigration consensus”.

@LaserAud @cbcwatcher @scoopercooper Maybe, I’m just going by my own experience locally. The couple of Polish guys and few Philipinos in school and early work years was fine. This…whatever this is…is not.

@Dfildebrandt @DanielTyrie @UCCavalier Pretty crazy how that lady mocked Canadian Nationalists for answering the question. A question that obviously needed to be answered after 4 decades of propaganda, erasure and social engineering that’s left newcomers like her claiming we don’t even exist as a people.

@UCCavalier Tyrie’s initial guest column and Brar’s rebuttal are an important debate to have in the WS’s pages. “What is a Canadian?” is a simple question that most people do not seem to have a good answer to.

@CPC_HQ cannot comprehend how Liberals who were “tired of Trudeau” got excited about voting for Carney. Simple answer: Carney admitted to his party’s failures. Conservatives who continuously refuse to acknowledge Harper’s (and Mulroney’s) failures will never win.

The consensus for nigh a century pre-1990 was for LESS immigration to Canada. In the 90s it was muddled with a trend towards a rise in pro-immigration sentiment (this was also when immigration became explicitly racialized and immigrants became a major minority group in public polling), not to mention two decades of STATE PROPAGANDA promoting multiculturalism and immigration. This propaganda has been so effective that even Conservatives have bought fully into Trudeau Sr’s vision of Canada. In 2015, Harper’s massive expansion of TFWs was a black eye on his campaign and reducing it was a major plank of the Liberal Party’s campaign. Harper’s immigration policy was so HIGH, and so heavily saturated with Indians and Han Chinese, that they effectively immigrated themselves out of office as those racial groups overwhelmingly vote Liberal.

@LaserAud @cbcwatcher @scoopercooper “We’ll tolerate a small amount, but don’t screw it up” was pretty standard. Until they not only screwed it up, they dropped a dirty bomb on Canada.

I joined Premiers Smith, Legault, and Ford in calling on Prime Minister Carney to adopt a renewed, collaborative approach to judicial appointments. Canadians deserve a process that reinforces public trust and reflects the full diversity of our provinces. Provinces know their communities best. A meaningful role in judicial appointments ensures our courts reflect each province’s realities. @ABDanielleSmith @fordnation @francoislegault @MarkJCarney

It’s actually because we flooded our communities with racial & ethnic foreigners for a century. In all of human history, couples most naturally coalesce amongst those who share ethnocultural identities. Yes, that means I need a bilingual Quebecois wife, preferably a 4th cousin.
Megan Basham@megbasham

The depression among young women, the rage among young men because they can’t find each other is primarily driven by this. The online dating experiment failed. Yes there’s some happy couples out there. But at scale, it has left young men and women, isolated, insecure, and resentful. Time to acknowledge it and get back to better, time-honored ways of meeting each other.
