@PeterP_1985 As good as the game looks, reality needs to set in. 95% of game studios/development teams do not have anywhere close to the amount of resources Kojima productions has. Their motion capture tech alone is one of one. No one else comes close.

@Garaa0fTheRage 1) It was an early preview of a technology that is still a ways off. DLSS 5 is highly likely to be an RTX 60 series selling point which is still over a year away. 2) It’s a feature and an optional one at that. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. It’s not complicated.

It’s doing a shit ton of memory swapping with the SSD along as throttling considerably whenever it is tasked with something that is pushing the hardware beyond its capabilities. It’ll get the job done but in a brute force type of manner. That kind of workload is not sustainable for the device over time. Especially as it becomes more bogged down with updates.

@USCSS_Ripley The biggest issue that DLSS 5 has exposed are “ gamers “ that do not know the differences between an in engine cutscene, pre-rendered cutscenes vs actual gameplay visuals.

As an artist that worked his whole life towards realism in games I salute the DLSS 5. It really improves shading and lighting...the two things that we faked forever in games and that were probably the biggest limitation in terms of what can be achieved in real time. As an artist that sees where this is going...well....buckle up guys. I was talking about this stuff not long ago on a stream. It's more likely AI in games will not be about generating models and textures for you but a process at the end of frame creation that will generate details, shaders and lighting. I will venture to say that the next DLSS or the next major update in DLSS will include added details over a simplified render. I guess games will be all about creating the mechanics and blocking out stuff and at render time you will get a fully detailed and believable result. What that means tho is that all those skills that we've developed over long years to be able to create high quality characters and props will become obsolete. Even now, with DLSS 5, you can beautify something like that lazy ass slop of Starfield into something digestible which is mind blowing. Bad art suddenly is not that bad at render time so working out with low skilled, poorly paid artists is even less of a problem. I can just imagine how the suits in top studios are celebrating that the future will require less investment in art departments. I just hope they don't forget that they still need good game mechanics and stories tho.

You’ll complain about the technology but in the same breath, you would be complaining if those technologies did not exist. Our PC’s would go back to requiring double to triple the GPU’s with a 1500 watt plus power supplies to power them. Hardware advancements have hit a wall. So these technologies are needed to balance things out. Pick a battle.

I can’t run games at normal frames without DLSS and FG now. Give it a few years so this matures, then you’ll enjoy lowpoly graphics unless you enable this new feature. The writing is on the wall.

Did you know? You can just turn DLSS 5 off? Did you know it won’t be enabled by default? Did you know people used to whine and complain about DLSS 1 until the technology matured and now it’s just normal? Follow the crowd, make an emotional tweet and get free likes.

@IanCutress It’ll have DLSS 5 as an option for those that want use it. Rockstar has a very long working history with Nvidia and have used all of their technologies as showcases for their games. Not just GTA. People whining on the internet isn’t going to change that.

If GTA6 launches as a DLSS5 native title.... it'll still sell 50 million copies half the people will have DLSS5 running most of them won't realise it here's betting most of them enjoy the game and marvel at the next gen graphics

The haters will become the minority in time. Their arguments against it have been falling apart one by one. As this point, the people that are still against it have zero clue on how the technology works. That and the fact that they do not even need to use it to begin with. They are mad at an option which is hilarious and sad at the same time.

I am seriously so annoyed by all those AI haters. DLSS5 looks phenomenal; people hate on it cause „it’s AI“. That’s the sole reason.
