We urgently need 1) guaranteed inclusion in council grants 2) certainty that weddings won't be harshly penalised in any future restrictions and 3) insurance that protects couples and businesses (just ask us, we have the answers and a ready-made solution).

This is not the winter the wedding industry wanted and it's certainly not the one we needed. Whilst it's heartening to see @RishiSunak announce some support for the hospitality sector, 400,000 wedding workers have yet again been left out in the cold 🧵#whataboutweddings

If the people of this country cared as much about their Freedom and Rights as they do about FOOTBALL, we would be looking at a very different scenario.

Now can we please readjust our priorities? Entire sectors put on the back burner so huge sporting events can go ahead. We all need to get back to work and end this shocking disparity that’s costing 10s of 1000s of jobs. Everyone’s a right to get out there and do whatever it takes

Meanwhile, Hospitality across the UK is closing due to staff being pinged. I think this answers all of our questions. Useless.

🚨 Reminder, Government has confirmed that when someone is ‘pinged’ by the app, self-isolation is only ADVISORY.

BBC interview just done on the lack of support the wedding industry have received over the last year - they are speaking to @RishiSunak too. The “unprecedented” support didn’t reach us. 80% women make up the sector. We still aren’t trading without restrictions.

A few scientists this morning, saying we shouldn't be lifting all restrictions at once. We aren't. Restrictions have been falling away since 12th April, when all non essential retail opened. 17th May, Hospitality with many measures still in place. This has been gradual.

But let’s hope. Because this is serious now. Covid cancellation cover is the largest most important issue facing our sector. It always has been. Let’s see if @scullyp and @PennyMordaunt have ensured it’s pushed over the line. I am still very happy to speak to you both about it.

My kids neither won nor lost today at #sportsday, It was all about ‘taking part’ 🙄 Most adults suffer losses regularly - losing jobs, contracts, failing tests etc.. Children need to know how to cope with losing, it’s part of life. What are everybody’s thoughts on this?

My thoughts with all restriction lovers after today’s briefing. Just remember, you can stay in your bedrooms as long as you like x

Very pleased to hear PM announce we can safely remove all legal restrictions on hospitality businesses, reopen nightclubs and lift capacity limits on entertainment & events from 19th July. First time our businesses can break even and look to viable future. Right decision

A huge number of wedding business owners have had “hospitality” support quoted back to them by MPs when they write letters. No, we haven’t had the reduced VAT rate, or the closed business grants of up to £3k a month, or the restart grants. Most haven’t had JRS either. Shameful.

God but this makes me angry. All the rich people are happily enjoying Wimbledon without wearing masks while the staff and the ball girls & boys are forced to cover their faces. Once again, it's one rule for them, another rule for the rest of us. End this insanity now.
