I’ve realized that blocking people who refuse to engage with me in good faith is an act of self-care.

@proud_penelope I think it’s most useful if we apply the states to different relevant ages. The 12-year-old is a much different state than the 5-year-old, for instance.

I think the metaphor of “the inner child” can be helpful for some therapy patients, especially as it helps facilitate necessary mourning, and eventual integration of dissociated self states that were fragmented due to early abuse or neglect
