As an ex trans person, I can translate gender woo: Ellen feels profound dehumanization. Beyond body or gender, but on a human level. She is seeking deep love, using her pain identity/wounded outsider trans persona as a proxy. If you affirm her, you love her. If not, you confirm her dehumanization. Page was sexually assaulted multiple times growing up, per her memoir. Being homosexual + assaulted created chronic dehumanized feelings, and narratives in her mind. When she says that people who don’t accept trans are uncomfortable with themselves, it means that she is desperately seeking to feel ok with herself and feels triggered when others more easily appear to be comfortable in their own skin. Classic defensive mechanism of projection. It’s very painful to assume others are not dehumanized when you are. So you spiritualize your pain to feel meaning. In this case, it’s not meaning aligned with reality. It’s a narrative she tells herself that she is destined to live out her feelings of alienation by harming her body. It’s her only way. She sees no merit to those critiquing her obvious self-harm because she can’t trust anyone without a wounded identity. Well, Ellen. I am a former ftm with an intimate knowledge of pain identity. And I broke free from that narrative. We want you to know femaleness and peace can coexist.

@LauraBeckerReal I have a simpler interpretation. She has put on the mask of her abusers to do two contradictory things: 1. to feel powerful, like they were, and 2., to hide. The abusers were seeking women, not men. This is a deeply wounded and disturbed woman. She needed therapy, not surgery.

@LauraBeckerReal As a general rule, females pretending to be males almost always have a history of sexual abuse or autism. Males pretending to be females are all perverts. I have yet to see a case that differs outside these patterns I've noticed.

@LauraBeckerReal Does anyone ever say they want someone who takes life really seriously, can't lighten up and is intense all the time? I think you already know what they mean. No body likes a person with their head in clouds and careless about everything either.

What does it even mean when people say they “want someone who doesn’t take life too seriously” ? On one hand, it seems like an avoidant 🚩on the other, do they just want low neuroticism? lol. Either way, I don’t like it. It feels unintentional and passive.
