@BillPascrell Oh no! He was one of my first political follows because he had such a fierce moral compass and wonderful sense of humor. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. 😢

Bill Pascrell, Jr. 🇺🇸🇺🇦
It is with deep sadness that we announce that Bill Pascrell Jr., our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away this morning. As our United States Representative, Bill fought to his last breath to return to the job he cherished and to the people he loved. Bill lived his entire life in Paterson and had an unwavering love for the city he grew up in and served. He is now at peace after a lifetime devoted to our great nation America.

Cancer Absolutely Hates Mushrooms. Pennsylvania State University researchers analyzed mushroom consumption on cancer risk, involving 19,500 patients. The subjects in the highest-consumption - 2/3 of an ounce of any type of mushrooms daily - had a 45% lower risk of developing cancer. sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/…

@MarcusLuther6 I’m an English teacher and was relatively good at it, but my favorite subject was history which is what I majored in. I actually hated so much of school and barely graduated from HS due to mental health challenges. I hope to be better than my HS teachers were.

Trump, behind closed doors, asked the millionaire attendees of his fundraiser why people were not immigrating from "nice" countries "like Denmark, Switzerland? Do we have any people coming in from Denmark? How about Switzerland? How about Norway?" He suggested the attendees were temporarily safe from undocumented immigrants nearby and ranted extensively about migrants entering the United States. "These are people coming in from prisons and jails. They're coming in from just unbelievable places and countries, countries that are a disaster." nytimes.com/2024/04/07/us/…

@EdFuller_PSU @DemonAndy55 Teachers definitely think they are the only hard workers. Every profession spins a number of plates and works outside of a 9-5 Monday-Friday week.

@elyse_aldridge @heymrsbond I cannot differentiate to this degree in a class of 30 students. An online program like Lexia might move the needle for some students but it needs to be used with fidelity, instruction and monitoring. I cannot do that on top of teaching grade level content.

@elyse_aldridge @heymrsbond Most of these students have gotten reading instruction and it hasn’t worked. They need a more intensive and individualized approach. Plus, many of them have underlying learning differences and have developed coping skills and habits that must be unlearned.

@elyse_aldridge @heymrsbond Because I’ve done this kind of intervention with students. It needs to be super small groups with no distractions (2-3 students, not in a general ed classroom), incredibly targeted, and lots of repetition. All of the brain science says it needs to be at minimum 2x/wk for 60 min
