Processing today: I took 2 fully online APSI courses this summer. Here are my takeaways as it relates to being a "student" in an online class.
1. Do not make students turn on their cameras
There were times I was eating & turned off my camera only to be asked to turn it back on

Today, in a landmark ruling, #SCOTUS confirmed what we already know – that nobody deserves to lose their job because of who they are or how they identify.
This doesn’t happen everyday. It is fitting it happens on the day we are Blacking out for Black lives and hopefully supporting our local independent bookstores, too. The #1 and #2 overall bestsellers @amazon right now are two books challenging racism. This is you. 🖤🙏🏾🖤🙏🏾

Faculty & staff must 1st work to identify their strengths/weaknesses & create plans to develop their emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, & collaborative skills so that they model these qualities to students as the larger work of school-wide #SEL initiatives are underway.

A great by-product of #SEL is that it not only creates the foundation for life-long learning but also stimulates the development of our most critical interpersonal skills; the ability to work collaboratively, show empathy for others, & communicate respectfully with diverse ppl.
