It's fascinating how in real life huge stories just don't have an ending at all. Remember the Boeing scandal? Planes falling apart? Dead whistleblowers? Was there some kind of resolution to it? Is it all fine now? It's like a plot that's an endless series of inciting incidents

I know this is entirely a “me” problem but it really bums me out for my TL to be flooded with moms talking about their “6 perfect pregnancies” when I know I’ll never get to have that many babies and the ones I do have were conceived with lots and lots of professional help

@Empty_America You seen Keeping Up Appearances? It centers on the self imposed class tensions in England, specifically the fret and anxiety of Hyacinth Bucket trying to be see as upper class, while constantly not getting it.

Intense "hygiene" anxiety, constant showering, codes as lower-middle class, as do things like washing towels after every shower, lots of air fresheners, etc. As you go up (or down) from that point in the class ladder, the anxiety about all this rapidly decreases.

@JasonKPargin I think about this episode a lot. And it was probably me sometimes. But also I do think I’m ~neurodivergent~ and was also naive as a teen so I think I both detected bullying toward me when there was none and missed it when there was kind of a lot 🫠

If there's one episode of TV I wish I could force everyone to watch and internalize, it's the 30 Rock where Liz, who has always seen herself as a bullied nerd underdog, finds out she's actually been hated all her life because she's mean.

@dennisbhooper My mom loved studio 60 so much I bought her the season on DVD. I still binge 30 rock from time to time but she was bitter that’s the one that won out 😂

A big thing that I need people to understand who weren’t watching that first season on live TV is that people liked Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, many of us quite a bit, but NOBODY expected 30 Rock to be the winner of the Studio 60 wars
