Today I am retiring from a 41 year career in public education. I will remain a supporter of public education in every way possible. I want to remind my colleagues that pendulums swing. They go back and forth. What has happened to public ed in Iowa in recent years concerns

Today we had 30-plus staff out due to COVID. This shortage led us to make the difficult decision to move to remote learning.
While this will be a huge adjustment for our community, we feel good about giving our parents and staff members six days to prepare for remote learning.
