The Classen SAS Comets and John Marshall Bears delivered a statement game that set a high bar for middle school basketball, with heavy hitters on both sides and a rare mix of high-level skill and physicality.
John Marshall came out firing, building an early 10-point lead, but momentum shifted after two emotional technicals in the first two minutes. From there, the game turned into a hard-fought, high-IQ battle. Classen SAS stayed composed, matched the physicality, and ultimately survived overtime to secure a 55–43 win.
These athletes compete against each other year-round, and it showed. The intensity, toughness, and execution on display reflected a mixture of players raising the standard and setting the tone for the future teams they will represent.
