I’m old enough to remember when the Q-Collar was called the Neuroshield and Bauer produced them for hockey. I thought it was strange that it just faded away, but I imagine the neophobic nature of hockey resulted in a lack of pro-level uptake which hampered product visibility.

With Vikings CB Akayleb Evans coming back after suffering three concussions as a rookie, the plan for him in 2023 is to wear a Vicis helmet, which will provide extra protection, and a Q-Collar similar to the one worn by Dallas RB Tony Pollard.

The weird neck thing Dalton Schultz is wearing is a Q-Collar, which is supposed to "help protect the brain from injury during head impacts." By "increasing blood volume in the brain's venous structures, reducing the harmful internal movement that causes brain injury."

@LauraWillcox @QCollarOfficial I haven't looked into the research enough to be able to comment on it. My thought is that there should be immediate, large and easily measurable difference. If that isn't the case, it's probably not all that useful.

If you don’t know what these are, it’s worth looking at the technology behind them. Basically a byproduct of studying woodpecker biology and how they are able to not get concussed
