The following is an Oríkì (praise poem) for Elédùmarè, reflecting the attributes of the Supreme Creator as the source of all existence. In Yorùbá tradition, these praises acknowledge the Creator’s transcendence and the divine Aṣẹ that sustains the universe.

Elédùmarè, Ọlọ́jọ́ Òni

Arẹnu-mámù
(The Incomprehensible One who cannot be fully known)
Alábàájọ́ kárí ayé
(The Partner in destiny who reaches all corners of the earth)
Ọba t’ó tẹ́ ayé s’órí omi
(The King who established the world upon the primordial waters)
Olúwa tí kì í sùn, tí kì í tòògbé
(The Lord who neither sleeps nor slumbers)
A-mọ̀-bí-kò-fò-ó-yẹ́
(The All-Knowing One who sees even the most hidden secrets)
Ọba a-ṣetán-mápòó-rò
(The King who acts and needs no second thought or counsel)

(The Silent Judge who delivers ultimate justice)

(The Supreme Source, the One who brings character from heaven)
🧉Theological Context
📍Olódùmarè: This title refers to the eternal, inexhaustible source of creation.
📍Aṣẹ:The Creator is the ultimate holder of Aṣa, the divine life force that allows the Orìṣa and Irumole to function.
📍Ìwà (Character): While Elédùmarè is transcendent, he is the final witness to a person’s Ìwà, which every soul must account for upon returning to the spiritual realm.
📍Orí (Destiny): It is in the presence of the Supreme Creator that each individual chooses their Orí, or inner head, before entering the physical world.
