This is the slimmest Joystick based fightstick I've ever made. Using @Layer_Shift's prototype slim lever that measures under 1" from plate to shaft. Paired with a phreakmods removable shaft. Still some work to do on the lever before final release, but soon we'll be able to build custom sticks closer to the slimness of leverless controllers. 🙌

Stick 🕹️ users:
We all learned on 30mm layouts, but I highly suggest trying a 24mm setup for your next controller purchase. No more stretching your fingers or moving your hand to reach pinky buttons - save some frames and your hands from injury at the same time.
The 4TW Onyx 24mm in the shop is based on the Sega 2P layout with 3 additional buttons to support modern fighters.

@gramofdata The one on the right is 20mm in this configuration. That's also using a Sanwa style TPMA so thinner isn't the issue it's looking at the trade-offs.

Very much looking this boom we're seeing in low-profile joysticks. Maybe we'll get a sub-20mm arcade stick at some point?

I still have some final details to refine, but this will be coming to the shop. Sleeved 20 Pin Wiring Harness. Each input has a labeled designated cable. It is made intentionally with excess wire to fit various cases and layouts, and leftover wire can be easily trucked into the velcro wrapping. Zip ties are applied after installation to ensure fit. The goal was to make an easy to install clean wiring harness that doesn’t compromise reliability. For that reason, it was best to make a 20 pin connector, standard quick connects with covers, and ensure each input has its own ground wire sleeves with the input wire so there is daisy chain mess. This one took me a few hours to make since it is a prototype and I changed some things as I went, but once measurements are validated, this will be an easy to produce product for all to enjoy without a steep commission price.

It’s time for the next adventure. I’m retiring from full-time game development after 35 years.
Going from advising and directing to later heading up Killer Instinct alongside the fighting game community has been an absolute honor.
I’m heading out to spend more time with family and friends and fire up the barbecue. After I’ve had some real time to unwind, a proper message to my KI family is absolutely coming down the road. Thank you all for the unforgettable ride!

@BobWulff I don't know if you even know my actual name... You can just sign as LayerWulff or BobShift though.

Had to share this after @BobWulff showed it to me. Clearly the attraction is Bob's signature, but I love seeing T-Spins in the wild!
We shared the STL files with the community a few years ago on our Printables link in comments.
