People seem to treat English so strangely compared to other language. Probably the the biggest unforeseen flaw with colonialism was people eventually seeing English as the "boring", "default" language.

Obviously one of the beautiful things about the English language is the fact that words from other countries are borrowed all the time. That's cool. But when those words start being stripped of their cultural significance and start being used as a joke it irks me differently 🤷🏾♂️
