Year 2

Our first and last week of Year 2. 💙 Team 2M! 🌟

We are proud to announce 2M’s Learner of the Year. 💙

We enjoyed making smoothies in Year 2 today. We have spent this half-term designing and bringing our own smoothies to life! ☀️🌈

Year 2 had a wonderful visit and workshop from @UrsulaHurstArt last week for our Reading Week! 😄 We were inspired by her story ‘Drawing Hope’ so we decided to create our own hope flags to spread positivity throughout our classroom. 🌈

2M’s reading rockstars! 🎸 We have loved getting lost in stories this week, getting to take part in a workshop with @UrsulaHurstArt and have enjoyed a reading picnic with parents and children from St Mary’s High School. 💙📚

Before half term, we celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in school. We had a whole school picnic, made crowns, made up some of our own rules and wrote a letter to send our congratulations to the Queen. 2M had the best time! 🇬🇧👸🏼👑💂‍♀️

Thank you for everyone who supported the children on Sports Day. They all had a great time! Well done everyone! 🏃🏃‍♀️⭐️ Congratulations to 2KR on being the Sports Day Winners! 🥇🏆

During Geography this half term,the children have explored the similarities and differences between Kenya and the UK. The children have tried some different exotic fruits, tried a special Maasai jumping dance and keeping their balance whilst walking.🇰🇪🥭🍍🥝

2R loved their trips to Brockholes yesterday where we explored the features of a river and the water cycle! 💧🌎 We are definitely fans of the great outdoors and learning using natural resources 🌳

2KR had a fantastic day at Brockholes yesterday 😀! It was great to have a day out in the fresh air and we learnt all about rivers and the water cycle. 💧🌲
