I want to be completely transparent, by the way; this is not mistake-free Old English. We are both speaking completely off the cuff, impromptu, from the tops of our heads, and neither of us are native speakers. For example, I say "ānes" where I should have said "ǣne", I mistook "lēod" for "lēoþ", and there are plenty of infelicities. Any non-native speaker who claims to speak a language error-free is kidding you. But, when we agknowledge this (that we are always going to make mistakes), we can move forwards with the confidence needed to make PROGRESS. The number one enemy to language acquisition is fear! The fastest learners are the ones who aren't afraid of letting everyone see them slip up.
