Stop this. I know how the videos trigger my Muslim friends, they have told me. They often stay away from SM to avoid clicking on the video because they don’t need to see (relive) what they have experienced again and again. Trigger warnings are for victims of violence.

Any comparison of the people who bore the brunt of the govt in that JNU incident and even after that falls short if you invisiblize the fact that Umar Khalid is still in jail for over 1000 days.

Kanhaiya Kumar and Shehla Rashid studied together, they were friends. Kanhaiya was the president of JNUSU and Shehla was the vice president. They came into the limelight at the same time, and Kanhaiya went to jail on false charges. But after getting bail he didn’t stop fighting fascist Modi govt. Later, he joined the Indian National Congress and showed his faith in Rahul Gandhi Ji to fight against Modi. Shehla formed a party with Shah Faisal which does not exist now and she has stopped fighting Modi govt. she compromised her principles & betrayed her community also. On the eve of this Independence Day, Kanhaiya was at Congress HQ, while Shehla is writing tweets in praise of the Modi govt.
