Tokenized Pokémon TCG volumes are going parabolic. Last month, the four main marketplaces facilitated $124.5 million in volume, a 5.5x increase from January. Broken down by individual marketplaces: @Courtyard_io is the top dog, with $78.4 million in volume in August (+49% MoM). @Collector_Crypt is the biggest marketplace on @solana, with $44.0 million in volume in August (+124% MoM). However, the biggest gainer in % terms for August was @phygitals, which grew its monthly volumes 245% MoM to $2.0 million.

One NFT project has been routinely topping the biggest collections, like CryptoPunks and Bored Apes, in trading volume lately. The project? @Courtyard_io 🧑‍⚖️ ~~ Analysis by @wmpeaster ~~ If you're not familiar with it, the platform lets you tokenize physical cards and rip digital packs of tokenized cards like Pokémon, etc. And it's showing considerable strength right now. For example, over the past day Courtyard facilitated the most volume in NFTs according to OpenSea, which @cryptoslamio backs up with even higher 24-hour volume stats. Then over the past week, Courtyard had +38.6k unique sales—the second-best project with +30.6k sales in that span was @AxieInfinity, which boasts one of the largest user bases in crypto. All that's to say, Courtyard is seeing serious traction right now. And while "real world assets" may evoke DeFi projects like Maple Finance and Superstate for most people today, Courtyard is demonstrating what product market fit can look like in the culture side of this arena. There are major tailwinds ongoing here, too. Sports cards and Pokémon cards are Courtyard's most popular items, and both of these markets are experiencing explosive growth beyond crypto. For instance, Pokémon was reportedly the only toy brand to top $1 billion in US sales last year. The franchise's cards are hotter than ever. In kind, Courtyard's window of opportunity has arrived. Its tokenized collectibles trading is bringing these cards online in a new compelling way, offering onchain liquidity, revenue sharing for tokenizers, transparent provenance, and vaulting-as-a-service. In other words, it's a good time to dive in. If you're new to Courtyard, you can create an account and receive an embedded wallet by signing in with your email or Google account. Deposit funds from your wallet or Coinbase Onramp, and you'll be ready to begin. Alternatively, you can just pay with a credit card at the checkout screen if you find anything you want. At this point, you can browse the main Marketplace and sort by filters like "Recently listed" or "Price: Low to high." For reference, the cheapest card at the time of writing was $8. You can also use the "Make an offer" option on cards if you want to try bargaining for better prices. Another page to explore is the Vending Machine, where you can buy and open mystery packs of tokenized cards. Every pack comes with one card and in different tiers. The cheapest are Starter Packs at $25, while the most expensive are Platinum Packs at $500. On the actual pack pages, you can review the odds of your pull's expected value. For example, if you buy a $100 Master Pack, you have 48% odds of pulling a $50-$75 card, but you also have a small chance of pulling a $800-$1600 card. Luck of the draw, right. And let's say that you try ripping a pack, but you don't love your pull. Courtyard will give you a 90% instant buyback offer on your new card if you want to quickly move on. Not bad. All in all, Courtyard's showing us that the future of physical collectibles doesn’t have to stay locked in closets or binders. It's delivering something that resonates, and it's easy to use and gaining real traction. Whether you're a flipper or a diehard collector or somewhere in between, this app's a must-try right now in my opinion!

Ripping @Courtyard_io packs makes me find amazing cards from the past. When I saw this one, I immediately loved it. It's from 1998 Bandai Pokémon Anime Series. The cards feature actual scenes from the original 1997–1998 Pokémon anime series and each card has a short story or dialogue excerpt printed in Japanese on the back, describing the scene or adding context. These cards are not part of the TCG. It was meant to let kids follow the anime story through cards. Amazing Then I noticed something in the background: "Satoshi."🤯 For me, Satoshi is only related to Bitcoin 🤷‍♂️ So I made a quick @ChatGPTapp image scan for other Japanese words, and I got this. 🔹 Japanese text under the word "Satoshi": 🟧 いいなあ、男の友情 Romaji: Ii naa, otoko no yūjō Translation: How nice, a friendship between men. (or more naturally in English: "How nice, male friendship.") It's bromance, I got it. On to the next one; 🔹 Text at the bottom left of the card: サトシ & ピカチュウ Romaji: Satoshi & Pikachū Translation: Ash & Pikachu (In Japanese, Ash is called Satoshi.) Ash is called Satoshi? Really? I mean, it was coded all the time. Tokenize the world, starting with Pokemon cards! 😅 I definitely need to get PSA 10 version of this. If you're interested in CGC 8.5 NM-MT+, it's listed for an affordable price—link in next post.

🚨 BREAKING: @Courtyard_io just became the #1 NFT ecosystem by trading volume in the past 24 hours. To put that in perspective: Courtyard’s 24H volume is now HIGHER than the rest of the top 10 NFT collections COMBINED. 🤯 Is this the start of a new NFT meta?

So TL;DR the safe app frontend was compromised as far back as 19th February. Compromise happened through leaked infra keys via a safe developer's machine. They specifically went after bybit but could have hit any one of you Now after losing $1.5bn can we switch to local apps?

Dropped more on Pokemon cards on @Courtyard_io yesterday than I did my whole life growing up. Such a cool product for discovering the rarest cards that are already graded. I used to buy and sell Pokemon lots on eBay in high school and college and flip the best cards for like $10-20 a pop. Really feel like this is the more modern era of that with a vending machine product and a marketplace that makes it super easy to do online. Couldn't speak more highly of it and stoked to start my collector arc again!
