CHAT CONTROL IS BACK → Today the urgent procedure for Chat Control 1.0 was passed. NEXT UP: The EU Parliament is voting on Thursday. If Chat Control passes: your messages, pictures, videos will all be scanned because the law will require it - this removes privacy and welcomes mass surveillance in the EU. What's happening? If Chat Control is passed, it will force client-side scanning - so companies will have to scan the contents of private communications, including encrypted messages and emails, before they are sent. In March, it was voted against, but it's back and it was pushed through via urgent procedure. This changes the rules of the vote (of course to be in favour of chat control). Shockingly, blocking it now requires absolute  majority 361 out of the Parliament's 720 members, to be rejected. This is hard to reach because: ‼️ People who do not vote are AUTOMATICALLY VOTED AS YES-VOTE in this procedure. ‼️ This was tactfully done: it's the summer break, this makes it even harder to reach 361 no-votes. The trick: a broad all-sites permission was granted in an earlier version and left unused, then a later update switched on the Give Freely affiliate SDK without requesting any new permission, so Chrome shipped it silently. The SDK registers a persistent device ID, geolocates users by IP, and sends telemetry continuously, while the store's privacy declaration still claims no data collection beyond core functionality. A broad permission granted early and activated later via a prompt-free update is a detectable supply-chain signal.

The official content they released was rejected by the audience. And after all of that, the channel has been basically abandoned for months. So what are they being funded for? To ruin more indie projects? A company that cannot even properly handle the franchise it already has should not be trusted with more creators’ work. Taking your project from an indie YouTube series to the big screen is already massive, but keeping original vision and authenticity by writing and directing it yourself almost never happens at this scale. Genuinely an insane achievement. This is the kind of dream many internet creators strive for, and as someone who spent years solo grinding entire projects, seeing that actually materialize for another creator is really inspiring. Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.
