Thoughts on Pelley presser: 1) they still don’t have a vision. No firm hired, no hierarchy determined. Doesn’t mean they won’t get this right, but they’re winging it right now. 2) Pelley just told the prospective GM’s he doesn’t want to hear about scorched earth rebuild.

If Max Domi survives this off-season, he should be deployed like Jason Spezza was and fight more - I might even become a fan if he did some fun stuff offensively and physically on L4 He can't seriously be deployed as a Top 9 fixture if the team is going to be good.

@_NickRichard If i were Nylander, id be the most worried of who the next GM may be. Can get a huge return, but also part of the criticized core. Mo likely knows his fate. JT should be safe for now.

@jonassiegel In the end it was a hockey play gone wrong. Gudas wasn't seeking to injure. It wasn't based on retaliation. But he still has to answer for it and protect his teammates. Hes the kind of player that the Leafs need

@_Grunky_ @nylanderthews I really think Leafs have to start creating tougher match ups for teams and that wont happen until they slot guys in roles they are over suited for. Joshua on a 4th line. Cowan and JT on a 3rd line. But it only works if you can add a top 6 winger and C.

@nylanderthews I really liked Donato in the offseason. Decent 30 P guy, would have been a good 3C this year, and at 29 if you put him with Nylander and one of Cowan or Knies, I think he would have worked well as 2C.

I have a couple 2C trade targets in mind that I don't think people are going to like. Not going to reveal either just yet, but hint they were both on most of the public trade deadline targets boards this season.

@_knilanderthews When you look at the RD next year, do you stick with Carlo, Tanev, and add Danford (who can be mentored by OEL) or move Carlo and try to overpay a UFA to be your 1 D or overpay UFA, and keep Carlo and let Danford play with the Marlies?

The Leafs losing a 2/3C in Minten + a potential 7/6th overall pick for a 4/5D could be the worst trade in my lifetime.

@_NickRichard Rather the Leafs win and move up to possibly 12th? (Won't catch Philly, Capitals, and the two teams that miss in East) and end this draft talk. Then next year, Flyers hopefully get a worse pick and be done with it.

All the teams the Leafs needed to win tonight did so (except the Bruins) so they didn’t “lose” any ground in the tank battle, but they missed a big opportunity to get closer to the bottom five.

@JayOnLeafs As a 4th line winger and if they move Lorentz ...yes. Need a guy who has jam and can score and even move up when needed to play solid 4th line mins.

Dakota Joshua is on my 2026/27 roster and it's not up for debate.
