I was so fresh on the job here. It really was one of the most nuts on air moments. We nearly crashed this boat & I'm in shock speaking utter nonsense. Poor cameraman @HenryMcMullan nearly went overboard, but we rolled on. Live tv will always be the best. This day 5 years ago 💛

Last week was a very poor turnout for #GuessThatISH so let's switch it up this time! What cell type is labeled by this unknown in situ hybridization probe? RIGHT ANSWERS ONLY! 😱 Bonus points if you can guess the exact (actin binding) gene name🥇 Happy guessing! #ThisseThursday

This is America where people can have their voices heard. This is America that was built on faith, family, and country. I am trying to remind us of our purpose, who we are as Americans in the first place. Not a divided country, not a divided party, not a country seeped in anger, but filled with hope and energy. That's what I'm going to keep fighting for.

Translating GWAS loci is still a complex process, most hits have large amounts of LD and we need to test putative causal variants in tissue/cell-specific contexts. Farrow et al. take the MPRA approach to assigning function to Parkinson loci. Nice work @SophieFarrow2
Sophie L. Farrow@SophieFarrow2

In agreement with previous studies, the variants that we identified to be acting as regulators (i.e., enhancers) were not typically the tag GWAS variant, indicating the need for deeper exploration of these loci.

@taramcallister4 If they paid out your leave (and it was a lot) you may have been taxed at higher rate, it’ll come out in the wash when you do your return next year.

Loved having the opportunity to listen to @GilesYeo share his thoughts on genetics & obesity today. And I definitely agree there is always tummy space for dessert!

if 9/11 is the historical event that separates millennials from gen z, what is the event or thing that separates gen x from boomers?
