Does the COVID 19 vaccine induce eye damage? A 2025 paper published in Ophthalmic Epidemiology is being promoted online by vaccine skeptics. But: reused images, impossible demographics, and an incomplete ethics approval number make *me* skeptical. scienceintegritydigest.com

🚨 Scandale dans la recherche : des données de validation d’anticorps manipulées sur les sites de fournisseurs comme Thermo Fisher et Abcam ont été découvertes. Des chercheurs sonnent l’alarme. Préjudice financier et scientifique énorme. 1/ 👇🏻 #Science #Recherche

A Brown professor gave his students a take-home midterm exam. After suspecting many cheated using AI, he made the final in-person. The orange dots are the midterm scores and the gray dots are the final scores. Looks like all but 3 cheated on the midterm.

I paid extra for an aisle seat months before my flight because I knew I’d be traveling for nearly ten hours. I get anxious on long flights, and having the aisle makes it much easier for me to get up and stretch without bothering anyone. When I boarded, a woman was already sitting in my seat. I smiled and said, "Hi, I think you're in my seat." She barely looked up from her phone. "No, I'm staying here. My husband is in the window seat, and we want to sit together." I showed her my boarding pass. "This is my assigned seat." She rolled her eyes. "You're traveling alone. It's not a big deal. Just take my middle seat a few rows back."

Wie helpt de in #Gouda en omgeving wereldberoemde ijscoman Opa Antonio uit de brand? Zijn ijskar uit 1979 dreigt het te begeven.

🚨 The Six Plagues Corrupting Academia The six plagues we have identified have been central to the disempowerment of the academic community and the profound erosion of public trust in science. ⚠️ This did not happen overnight. For decades, research integrity tools, practical guidelines, and meaningful training have been largely absent from academic institutions and universities. As a result, scientific misconduct has continued to grow, fueled by an academic system that has failed to equip researchers with the knowledge and skills needed to uphold research integrity. At the same time, academic publishing has evolved into what is arguably one of the MOST EXPLOITATIVE industries in the world. 📄 Authors receive ZERO for publishing their work. 🔍 Reviewers receive ZERO for reviewing manuscripts. ✍️ Many editors receive little to nothing for managing submissions. 💰 Meanwhile, publishers generate billions from a system built almost entirely on the unpaid contributions of the academic community. ⚠️ Predatory publishers—including @MDPIOpenAccess, @FrontiersIn, OMICS Publishing Group (@Omics_Online), @BenthamScienceP, @wasetorg, ScienceDomain International, and and journals formerly published under Hindawi (now integrated into @WileyGlobal)—did not emerge in a vacuum. They flourished because the incentives and business models established by the traditional publishing industry—including @ElsevierConnect, @SpringerNature, @WeAreTandF, @WileyGlobal, @Sage_Publishing , @OxfordJournals, @CambridgeUP, @ACSPublications, @NaturePortfolio, @PLOS, @CellPressNews, and @IEEEorg—created the very conditions that enabled predatory publishers and journals to emerge and thrive. The consequences have been far-reaching. Paper mills have proliferated. Predatory conferences have exploded. And parasites and academic residues (see the list of those exposed to date: x.com/SciGuardians/s…), aided by compromised editors and journalists, have exploited this environment of disempowerment and silence under the guise of "research integrity" for personal, commercial, and institutional gain. These are not isolated problems. 📌 They are interconnected symptoms of the same broken ecosystem. Until the underlying incentives are addressed, exploitation will continue to be rewarded, scientific misconduct will continue to thrive, and public trust in science will continue to erode. 🔱 This is precisely why @SciGuardians exists. @SecKennedy @DrJBhattacharya @HHS_ORI @NIH @C0PE @Clarivate @ClarivateAG @DOAJplus @CrossrefOrg

» « Le BMJ, The Lancet… @SciGuardians

Claude Science is incredible. I gave it some sequencing data, and in 8 hours it did a full analysis, generated figures, wrote a paper, submitted it for publication, got rejected, revised and resubmitted, got rejected again, it is now applying for positions in industry

I'm pleased that we can finally announce the theme for this year's International Day of Action for Academic Integrity, which takes place on Wednesday 21 October 2026. It is the rather catchy "Recipes for Integrity: Sharing your signature dish". #academicintegrity
