@LectricSheep

You either die a creative hero or live long enough to see yourself become late-career Jay Leno.

@buccocapital The Whoop thing sent me. Subjugating himself to data. Good thing Jordan didn’t have Whoop or the flu game may have never happened!

@Great_Katzby Legends is so good. Coming to believe 6 eps is perfect length for a serialized drama.

Warner Bros. Discovery Networks revenue down 8%, earnings down 9%. The melting ice cube in action! Quite a prize that Paramount won.

@Kappa_Kappa Saw it with my own eyes! (I was too young to remember, but apparently she bragged about her connection with him since he had a guest role on Miami Vice back in the 80’s)

@Kappa_Kappa My sister was on the high school swim team with him. He sent everyone from his high school a signed “Return of the King” poster for Christmas that year.

This is a super insightful Instagram comment from @SterlingKBrown—who understands the economics of show business as both an actor and a producer—about why so many new seasons of TV consist of only 8-10 episodes.

@Great_Katzby Flashback episodes are the hardest thing to pull off in TV. A series full of them… good luck!

@MikeIsaac Let’s not give him toooo much credit… writing off projects existed long before he got to town, he’s just the first to show some glee in doing it

zazlav’s flack denying the “mike and pam in trouble” rumors after he let them twist in the wind last year is rich, especially as he takes a victory lap for their big bets his legacy will be flipping a distressed asset and inventing tax savings strategies by killing unreleased IP

Studio sources believe Maggie Gyllenhaal's #TheBride will lose roughly $90 million when marketing costs are taken into account. variety.com/2026/film/awar…

@LectricSheep Absolutely insane twist. Laughed out loud and couldn't take it seriously the rest of the way

Do I understand the complaint that #Lanterns is earthbound despite the source material's galaxy-spanning nature? Yes. Do I still think this looks like a compelling detective drama w/ genre elements and trust #HBO's track record of elevating superhero material? Also yes.

@Great_Katzby Ladybird was charming, and def outperformed its budget, but I’d comp that to Black Swan. Aronofsky was as hot as a young director gets, but was really just an industry brand (sadly)

@LectricSheep Relative to budget, Lady Bird was successful as was Little Women (not an original, but obviously not a genre/blockbuster with huge hook.

Nolan, Tarantino, Coogler and Gerwig are all the rare filmmakers who have become brands unto themselves and can sell tickets based on their name power. Hoping Spielberg rejoins the list with #DisclosureDay.

@LectricSheep Somehow managed to get seats in the cinema right at the front so felt like being absued on a VR headset lol. Superb films just maybe not as snobby as what the academy wants? Most of the films running this year look so dull.

A lot of very short-term movie license pickups over the past year, too. Newer WB movies come for about a month and go. Speculation: They're maybe seeing less value in having titles for longer and would rather cycle the library more aggressively. Hints at poor discovery within the app, though.

Been noticing a lot more TV licenses Netflix is picking up are on very short windows. No more 24 months like with HBO, 18 months with Disney. 1 year seems to be the standard still but more and more titles are only getting 6-month pickups.
