For years, Medicine adjusted kidney fxn for race. This unfairly disadvantaged AA pts awaiting kidney transplant. In 2022, UNOS addressed this injustice, and my pt. G. Mumford speaks so well to this pain. #healthequity #transplantation

4 years ago today, we brought home our second baby girl. I managed to convince her older sister that Starzl would be a great name. It's been such a joy raising such a fun and sweet girl in the honor of the complex and brilliant surgeon who pioneered a field of medicine I love.
