It has been an amazing transplant year at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. We surpassed the volume of previous years. Our abdominal transplant programs completed milestones in liver (322), kidney (506), kidney/pancreas (52), and pancreas alone (2). New innovations abound - robotic kidney transplantation and living donation, machine perfusion of organs, advances in organ retrieval, transplant oncology, training and educational excellence, and research initiatives that will shape the future of transplantation. Our programs have continued to provide our patients with excellence in clinical outcomes, hope, and unparalleled experience. It is always gratifying to hear from patients that “it just works so well here at Mayo” which is a milestone in and of itself.

It was an honor to give the ReMine lecture at the Priestley Society @MayoClinic in Amelia Island. There are new demands on surgical leaders and we need to build skills to meet the challenge.

It was a distinct honor to introduce @MathurAmitK as the ReMine Lecturer at the Annual Priestley Society Meeting, and to share our experience w/ robotics in transplantation w/ Alumni members. Wonderful to reconnect with current & former @MayoAZSurg residents as well.

Major liver transplant program milestone today at @MayoClinic in Arizona. We completed our 3,000th liver transplant since the program began in 1999.
