New York: it's hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool. Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can. Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment. A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. Let's ease demand — and get through the heat — together.

JEA has a budget shortfall which now has become our burden. However, JEA’s contribution to the city remains unchanged. If only we had a Mayor that had a longstanding friendship with JEA’s CEO-maybe then we could collaborate & find a solution. 🤷🏼♀️ #ifonly

I had no idea that hiking my JEA bill $8+ a month equates to all this! Just give up bottled water & lattes. Simple. Ratepayers sacrifice -JEA makes $106.8M - JEA generously makes their $140M “contribution” to COJ. 🙄 BUT at least it’s my JEA 🫶🏼

A message to residents of @CityofJax regarding property taxes.
Government should never grow faster than inflation + population.
Under @lennycurry the budget was UNDER the benchmark by $38.5M (last 3 years) showing fiscal restraint.
Under @DonnaDeegan the budget was OVER the benchmark by a whopping $623M (last 3 years) showing zero fiscal restraint.
Please, don’t tell me keeping government growth under inflation and population is impossible.
