@NEndoscopy @DrEilidhMaria A referral may not be accepted from OH without some limited information. Manager has a duty of care and it’s reasonable to ask. Sensitivity and compassion is expected. There are NHS managers that have this is abundance and are fantastic support to their staff. @CDDFTNHS

@DrEilidhMaria @LeedsClare deals with this a lot. They have ZERO right to know and no one should feel any pressure to disclose. OH is defo the route for longer lasting issues but some services still give specifics when I don’t think they are meant to.

Not enough GPs. Govt say training more. Hoards of International medical graduates filling training posts. Unemployed GPs. Nothing adds up.

@DrRobgalloway medicine has a long, noble history of campaigning and advocating and challenging around public policy that affects health and healthcare i would argue we often aren't political *enough* (doesn't have to be *party*-political) and people who say "too political" hate challenge

@BMA_James_Steen As soon as I stopped undertaking unpaid workloads & actually took lunch breaks, whilst still working at least half a day extra unpaid each week, "senior management" starting getting rather nasty with me. That was the point at which I put in my retirement papers. Sorry!

@BMA_James_Steen For years I did a 2 consultant clinic single handed. Few years before I retired I asked myself why am I doing this ? It’s was really stressful and crap for trainees and patients. I stuck to the rules and became less “ efficient”.

Reading the article it seems that it is not as simple as the headline suggests, which is basically a repeat of Hunt 2016 nonsense. This is more complicated, but still nonsense. A thread 🧵
