@andybudd Design itself is the process of making a series of informed choices. Without the ability to make choices a designer is basically a mac op, and this is a problem at a lot of large product orgs, where it’s often all too easy for product owners/managers to own every decision.

Choice is a prerequisite for happiness and creativity. If design teams aren’t given the choice of what problems to work on and how to approach them, you’re going to end up with an unhappy, uncreative and disengaged team.

Had to cancel Air BnB for next weekend yesterday cos there is no way dad is going anywhere in a car that soon after this weather & it was 3 hours after the cut off for getting 1/2 refund and I got no refund at all and boy does that smart. I couldn't even talk about it yesterday.

@AbsentHog I’m not sure if it is their actual formal distinction, but asking this question previously the best answer I got was that if it has shsred/communal indoor space (even just entryway/hallway/stairs) it is an apartment.

@anon_opin I recently bought a house here in NZ, and was amazed at how quick it was. From offer accepted to moving in was 8 weeks, and that was drawn out because the seller was waiting on her new property. It’s often 3-4 weeks. I think my UK house purchase took 8 months from memory? Wild.

The homebuying process is basically a circle jerk for solicitors. There's no need for it to be so slow and antiquated, it should be computerised and happen within minutes
