@DallasCroob @RyanLottinger He was hurt and his mechanics were also out of wack as well. Again, if this weren’t a Brave you wouldn’t be a the wild homer stance. Our org has been shit at helping guys adjust at the MLB level last couple years and the new staff so far seems a lot better. Riley’s gonna be fine

Austin Riley fWAR by season before 2 injury riddles years: 5.1 5.9 5.2 Can't be this dumb..
AAisEpsteinsHandler@RyanLottinger

@StatsSAC You can say something about the development once they hit the majors. No one has really improved since their rookie year pop. (Minus the Acuna crazy strikeout drop year) But the minor league development has been great.

@DallasCroob @RyanLottinger A $200M player being a 115 OPS+ and then 106 OPS+ would be alarming anywhere outside Atlanta where the homer card is removed. Hopefully the new coaches can help everybody get right, and Riley’s made some good adjustments that have paid off in ST.

The FAA defines how much a passenger & their carry-on bags weigh as a standard average for weight & balance calculations. If I recall correctly, it’s 190 lbs in the summer & 195 lbs in the winter. Let’s say 140 passengers. 140 x 190 =26,600. In their press release, they crow about delivering 6,000 lbs of aid. If they had just chartered a cargo jet & stayed home, they could have delivered more than 4x the cargo. The aid makes up less than a quarter of what the jet they chartered can carry, after fuel. These people are stupid & unserious, but I’m sure the Instagram posts of their vacation on donor’s money will get lots of likes.

@CraigMcDaniel @StatsSAC Their misses drafting have hurt supplying the MLB club when they have injuries that every club goes through eventually. Living in 25-30 Farm ranks is tough, but I never said they were the worst or couldn’t develop, but the lack of farm depth has hurt them last few years.

The Braves had a good offseason But countering the losses of Schwellenbach Waldrep Wentz Profar With Dominic Smith Kyle Farmer In Spring Training doesn’t feel good for business The Braves are very good on paper, but a ton of risk exists as well

@CraigMcDaniel @StatsSAC I said to have farm depth, but also having 1 good rookie season and then declining or being hurt endlessly isn’t a successful prospect. It could be worse, but Albies is ass, Strider/Schwelly are hurt a lot, Harris is an offensive mess.

Didier Feuntes needed to be on the Braves opening day roster. No pitcher had a better Spring Training then he did!

@RyanLottinger Really hope a complete overhaul in mentality and some better analytics use with a new manager helps these guys.

@RyanLottinger @StatsSAC Our farm does very well being aggressive with the few jewels we believe in, and the Braves have made some changes in PD so hopefully this year with a lot of pool to play with, and some IFA’s in their age 18-19 years, it starts progressing well with floor & upside

@StatsSAC Ozzie had his best years his first two seasons. Riley, the same. Harris the same. They came. They popped. And haven't added anything to their games since. The braves developed the player. But it stopped once they got up. Acuna is an alien. So it's not really the same.

Including their respective rookie years: Albies is 4th in fWAR among 2b (since 2017) Riley is 8th among 3b (2019) Acuna is 4th among RF (2018) Harris ll is 9th among CF (2022) Yes, the past 2 years have been struggles for most, but the homegrown core has grown just fine

@RyanLottinger @StatsSAC Ozzie Albies has 1 season since 2022 with a WRC+ over 100. Choosing to ignore not 1 but 2 bad years is simply excellent fandom. @StatsSAC I was simply pointing out that we have not been able to above a T-20 farm for years while other perennial playoff teams have stuck up there

@RyanLottinger Right now his 132 WRC+ season very well could be an outlier if he regresses to the mean. He was the high floor high ceiling prospect of the trade at the time but if we dealt Contreras and Langeliers woooooof.

@RyanLottinger @StatsSAC They have had jewels come up and have a good cup of tea. They have not been able to develop enough depth to do that + trade while at seemingly their maximum payroll and not willing to commit to years on the FA Market.

The Braves not drafting or developing well is a blatant lie Not only is the core home grown, Drake Baldwin and Michael Harris II are two of past four NL ROYs Strider, Schwellenbach also have come in past four years and many other talented arms on the way Talent is a plenty
ATL Sky Chop@LeftTurnsRock

@StatsSAC They don’t develop or draft well enough to have attractive farm depth, and don’t do well or have fortunate luck with injuries while being a Luxury tax paying team. C’est la Vie

@StatsSAC Sorry, please outline their farm system rankings by non-bloggers for the last 6 years. There was at least argument for it 2020-2023 being bad. It hasn’t gotten any better in the 3 years since while others drafting later have done better

@StatsSAC Everyone is either hurt again, ass, or in their sophomore year. All while not being able to gather enough depth to have a T-20 farm. Strider came back a shell of his former self, and Harris is a 90 WRC+ hitter. There is more to success than someone having a good rookie campaign.
