83 years ago tomorrow was the start of the blitz.  Margery Draper experienced the full force of it. She's just one of 700 veterans in my archive sharing remarkable stories about WWII. Click to view the archive: buff.ly/45WSuvh #ww #wwii #history #worldwar #blitz

Doug Arthur was also in Greece at the start of the German Blitzkrieg. To say he had a lucky escape would be an understatement. See his whole interview here: buff.ly/47ydmdN

Over the years I've interviewed a number of veterans who are very adept at writing poetry. During the Korean war, Neville Williams was an Assault Pioneer in The Welch Regiment. His poem moved both of us. Neville's full interview is here: buff.ly/3OGdkJj

Not many of us who ask for god's help repay the favour by becoming a man of the cloth. Following a torpedo attack in the North Atlantic, Ted Rogers [who was also having GF problems] did exactly that. See extended interview here: buff.ly/3OFN6qx #wwii #history #worldwar

What a pleasure to interview Korean War veteran Mike Mogridge on @BBCNews who served with Royal Fusiliers, City of London Regiment, in 1953. The 89-year-old is among British veterans being honoured at a service today for the so-called Forgotten War at Horse Guards Parade #bbcnews

Today, 70 years after fighting in the Korean War came to an end, we held a service of Remembrance at Horse Guards Parade, London. We remember the 60,000 British service personnel who served between 1950-53, and those who lost their lives. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

In WW2, James Pitts was an Air Gunner with 856 Squadron. During his interview, he shared some amazing details about a number of 'moments' he experienced as a Fleet Air Arm, Gunner. This one, on a patrol in the Baltic sea, blew my mind. #wwii #history #convoys #swordfish #arctic

I interviewed George Barnes when I was on holiday Padstow in March 2012. He made a big impression because I came to comprehend what conscription must have been like for so many of the men who went to Korea. This is from Legasee's KS3 Teaching Resource  buff.ly/43fwcmG
