@LegacyProgramVP Go make your woke movies with a black, Korean, trans, lesbian, Muslim & gay. But make it about yourselves. Stop crawling on your knees making Greek inspired films. We are not you. We honor our heroes, we honor Helen for she carries the name of Greece..Hellas! The Iliad is ours!!

@vonderleyen They wanted diversity, they demanded it. So the French Federation bowed to pressure & insisted on at least one white French player 😂. Then the white guy gave away the penalty 😂

@BpopeTV @EricTropicalTX Wrong. 3 black actors that should not be playing those characters, especially Helen of Troy, who carries the name of Greece (Hellas) & is the iconic Greek beauty whose face launched a thousand ships. There were no blacks in bronze age Greece!

@EricTropicalTX Did you see the movie? Does having two or three Black people cast in a movie really bother you that much? Reflect within yourself on why that is. Having 3 Black characters out of 20 is anything but “antiwhiteism”

@AzzurraS4 @Lupita_Nyongo Lupita is a trash actress who has a bad attitude. She thinks she's entitled coz she's black. Without crazy diversity quotas she would be a cleaner in a hotel.

@HomerPavlos And Homer named Helen for Greece, Hellenic..Hellenistic..the symbolism is there..it was the beauty of Greece that was stolen & thousands of Greek troops willingly sailed the sea to bring her back. They did not sail for a sub Saharan African.

The BFI IMAX is on the verge of selling out every screening of The Odyssey through August 20. Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of the cinema. No film has ever generated this level of demand.

@maryannjohanson @NolanAnalyst Rubbish. Racism is what made European civilization great. Wokism & allowing mass migration from the third world is what's destroying it.

Today I learned that in Nolan’s movie "Odyssey," there is a line: "Sinon was the greatest warrior among the Greeks." Sinon is not mentioned in Homer at all, and in the film he is played by a woman. Now look at what’s happening. We Greeks are forced to listen to barbarians telling us that the movie is amazing, while watching our Greek civilization being mocked on screen, and being told that the greatest warrior of the Greeks is Sinon, played by a woman. In other words, we Greeks are forced to watch a film based on our own history and our ancestors, and if we disagree with what we see or get angry about it, then we are called racists and puppets of Elon Musk. That’s what they tell us. So from now on, the purpose of my life will be to turn as many people as possible against all those academics and classicists who supported this abomination, this thing that mocks Greek culture, takes the greatest and most important Greek epic poem, and turns it into a "fairy tale." No, it is not a fairy tale. It is our Greek history. They are our Greek ancestors. And we have every right to express our opinion, to demand proper representation in the casting, and to demand that Greek academics and historians oversee the script and the historical authenticity of films that exploit Greek civilization to make money in our name. Enough with the exploitation, the propaganda, and the distortion.

the odyssey is the kinda movie where you find yourself completely forgetting you're even watching a movie. it felt like i was dreaming. a mythical nightmare that blends elements from all of nolan's films. so lucky to see this in theaters. i'm in awe that this movie even exists.

Didn't expect The Odyssey to leave me sobbing as I was so completely immersed in the beauty and terror of the mythical world Christopher Nolan crafted, making every step of Odysseus' journey feel real. More than an epic it's the grief of coming home only to find time has moved on

I wanted to remind @Lupita_Nyongo that women play a central, multifaceted, and often pivotal role in the Odyssey. They embody themes of loyalty, temptation, wisdom, power and domestic stability. They are not mere background figures. They actively shape the plot, test the hero, and highlight contrasts between fidelity and betrayal. Penelope is the embodiment of fidelity Athena the Divine Patron and Mentor Nausicaa represents hospitality Euryclea represents steadfast service Calypso and Circe are symbol of temptation, seduction and aid These female characters often exercise power indirectly—through cunning, hospitality, or divine intervention—rather than open force. No need for a feminist translation, it's enough to read the original poem.
