I’m sorry but some of these Trey Murphy trade demands are getting absolutely ridiculous. Before anyone loses their mind, YES Trey Murphy is absolutely no doubt the better player than Podz right now. YES he fits the Warriors perfectly. YES I’d trade for him in a heartbeat. But some of y’all are acting like this dude is prime Kawhi. Trey Murphy is 26 years old going into his 6th season. He’s NEVER: ●Made an All-Star team ●Made an All-NBA team ●Made an All-Defensive team And he’s also had injury issues. Yet people are saying Podz + Moody + 1-2 firsts STILL isn’t enough? Come the fuck on. Podz after the All-Star break averaged 17.5 PPG, 6.2 RPG and 4.1 APG. Murphy after the All-Star break averaged 19.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 3.6 APG. Again, Murphy is absolutely the better player because of his size, defense and fit, but let’s not act like we’re comparing an MVP candidate to a role player. Podz is making $5M. (23 years old year 3) Murphy is making $25M. (26 years old year 6) Moody before his injury was averaging 15+ PPG while taking around 10 threes a game and hitting over 41% from deep on elite difficulty off screens with defenders in his face. That archetype alone is worth at least 2 first-round pick in today’s NBA. Unfortunately he’s injured which is why were adding picks So when Warriors fans say Podz + Moody + 1-2 firsts for Murphy, that’s NOT a lowball. That’s a serious fucking offer. And honestly too much Honestly, as a GM, I’d argue Podz + Moody + 2 firsts is already an overpay. As a Warriors fan though? I’d still do it because Steph Curry and Trey Murphy together would be absolutely unfair. Tre murphy is a really good defender, your not looking at games bruh, when kid wants to defend he’s elite asf the problem is he has a huge role offensively being their only reliable perimeter scorer especially one with such an elite shooting ability he just doesn’t have the energy to also give his all on defense. Thats why i love him with the warriors man the motion offense with curry’s gravity will make him soo much better on offense while reducing how much energy he needs to spend just to score and this would also allow him to focus more energy defensively. Yall warrior fans are sooo fucking retarted if you think this isnt fair, post shot 40% from 3 his rookie year but he was a cone on defense like fucking abysmal, this year his shot went down but he was top 7 in defensive rating when he was on the floor and statistically one of the best defensive bigs in the league and even watching him he met the eye test he was a substantially better defender at the 5 than draymond. The only reason post shot dipped this season was because he was putting alot of effort defensively and his legs wasn’t strong enough to handle both ends of the floor. All he has to do is work on his legs this summer and post will be a starting caliber 2 way big thats a legitimate floor spacer especially in the west vs wemby. My only gripe with him is his soft rebounding but he was literally getting better at rebounding as the season progressed but kerr wasnt playing him much towards the end not only due to injury but because his shot wasnt falling.
