@sourestdoe As a librarian, it’s actually not just sad it’s kind of infuriating. I want to ask google, How does one get new content for AI if you’re destroying the incentive to make new & original content because it won’t been shared, seen or funded? Searches are going to become an Ouroboros

@Nglmia_x This is why several universities have moved away from late fees as long as you return the book. Most of us librarians want you to succeed so even if they suspected something, they likely were happy to wipe your fees regardless. All that mattered is the books were returned

In college, I checked out 10+ library books for a research project.
Then I forgot to return them.
A month later, I got a bill for hundreds in late fees.
I was broke.
And the university wouldn’t release my grades until I paid.
So I did something ridiculous.
I stuffed all the books into my backpack.
Walked into the library.
And quietly put every book back in its exact place on the shelves.
The next day, I called the library.
“I received a notice saying my books are overdue, but I’m pretty sure I returned them.”
The librarian put me on hold.
A few minutes later, she came back.
“Oh… you’re right. All of the books are here. We’re so sorry.”
Every late fee was erased.
My transcript was released.
And I graduated thanks to the fact that I technically returned my own books.

@perfectlyfine89 They’ve trained in 110 degree weather in St. Joe, not that I wish extreme heat on them but it seems to happen pretty often at training camp. I feel like they are way more prepared for the extreme heat & sun than other teams, and better than when Miami came here in -30 degrees.

@aloi_asaf It’s whatever the bride and groom decide. In my area you might expect anything from Pasta to steak to BBQ buffets. Other parts of the country might do seafood or local dishes. About the only consistent wedding food is cake, and even those flavors, shapes and styles vary wildly

@cryeyesviolet_ They used to force me to do it yearly to get my BC pills refilled. However, I have to do it yearly now because I’ve had cancer/pre-cancer multiple times 🙃and at this point I’d rather they just cut everything out than keep doing these and having to go back in for surgery and this
