This weekend while out for lunch at a restaurant near Asheville, NC I sat near two Trump supporting gentleman and close enough to overhear their conversation. I used to think of them as low information, but I was wrong. These men were smart and full of information. Unfortunately, the information comes from another universe from the one that I am living in. This really was clear when they were discussing the storm and discussing how all of the information about how the Government was directing the storm to this area will come out after Trump is in office. I make this point because they were as certain in what they were discussing and intelligent in discussing it as I am certain of how wrong they are. As they both drove away in their septic tank work trucks, I realized how the Republicans won this group of hard-working Americans and it was on AM Radio. They will go turn on AM radio and receive their information about America there. I finally understand why Rush Limbaugh and others were paid so much money to work on AM radio. We lost that battle, and we need to figure out how to reengage with these Americans across America with actual facts and in a format that they want to listen to.

@donwinslow The Progressive policies regarding the border and rampant crime angered voters. They blamed politicians.

If we, collectively withdrew our $1.6 trillion purchasing power, major sectors like beauty, fashion, and tech would have massive revenue losses.

@JoJoFromJerz I’m shocked that Biden/Harris did not run counter ads on Spanish radio stations. For over two years, Trump dismantled Biden policies. By election date, even illegal aliens were rooting for Trump!

He’s not going to make life better for the bulk of the people who voted for him. Groceries are going to get more expensive, healthcare coverage will be harder to get, their jobs will be less equitable and lower paying, their medications will be impossible to afford, the air they breathe, water they drink and food they eat will be less safe, and their kids will have less access to public education, if they can access it at all. The women who voted for him will face losing even more rights, the Latinos who voted for him will face deportation, and the blue collar workers who voted for him will face lower wages and more hours for less pay, in unsafe conditions, without overtime. But so long as they get to hate who they hate, or pull the ladder up behind them, or blame some innocent immigrant for all that ails them… they don’t care. Even if they can’t afford eggs under him either, which by the way, they won’t… They still won’t care.

@MadisonKittay I'm sure she's going to stand there and say it's not my fault, I voted for Jill Stein, when Trump green lights Israel razing all of Palestine to the ground. Going to get interesting if she, her friends, or family have any kind of immigration status and are deported.

@Paultx890 I had stopped really prepping, but now I'm getting back to it, & stocking basics & pricing cost per serving, etc, & no more new clothing, furniture, or home products. It's only used from now on, so it's purchased stateside. The depression is coming, I'm preparing now.

@Paultx890 If Trump keeps his Project 2025 promises: My husband has a pension & social security. I have Army Retirement, VA disability & social security. We would be forced to try & live on his pension. I’m a 67 yo nurse & I would have to go back to work!

@RossKneeDeep My husband works IT for a very large construction supply company. They have already begun the paperwork to lay off 50-75% of their warehouse staff as soon as trump's tarrifs hit. It's Oklahoma. They voted themselves out of jobs. No sympathy.

Well, I guess the consequences of this election are already being felt. A story about Trump voters in Pennsylvania. The owner of a large company called a meeting for all his employees. He informed them that they won't be getting their Christmas bonuses this year. He explained that the company has to buy a year's worth of product before the Trump's tariffs hit in January. They said they thought the tariffs were paid by the foreign companies. He then explained to his employees that the tariffs are paid by the American companies who import these foreign goods. Sometimes, you get exactly what you vote for.

Y’all wanted the yam-tinted tariff man to be in charge so don’t come bitching to us when you don’t get a Christmas bonus cuz yer boss is spending that cash on 2 years+ worth of all the supplies he needs to operate before they get a bazillion times more expensive under Trump.

I'm hearing from many Kamala Harris supporters who say they are cutting ties with MAGA fascist family members and are not going to showing up for holiday gatherings. "It's not a difference in politics, it's a difference in morality." 😳

@maddenifico It’s not even out of just anger. It’s apathy. I am resigned to reality. The way I feel about them has fundamentally changed. I don’t trust them or believe they love me and my family anymore. I can’t look them in the face and pretend that they didn’t hurt us anymore.

I'm being blocked from much of X today. Anyone else experiencing this? If I try to send an article from news when I hit the X, it takes me to black page with a big X & never lets me tweet it. Same when I hit a previous X tweet still up. It just goes to black X page. Am I being forced off?
