This mornings @LBC @NickFerrariLBC interview with @BorisJohnson was an absolute disgrace Three times the former Prime Minister was allowed to repeat (UNCHALLENGED) his completely boll**** & debunked claim that “Brexit saved lives” by allowing the speed of the vaccine rollout

@JamesCleverly Perhaps he just wasn’t a very good teacher. There will have been people applying for those jobs with much more recent experience in the classroom than him. A lot can change in education in four years…….especially when there have been numerous Ed. Secs. In that time.

@KemiBadenoch It’s a shame you do not have such a visceral reaction to corruption, lying, law breaking etc. Do your visceral reactions only kick in when policy adversely affects the wealthy? Ensuring the rich get richer whilst throwing scraps to the poorest is not good policy to my mind.

I know who I am…I moved back to the UK as a 16 year old, alone, with my father’s last £100 from a country where hyperinflation destroyed wealth. Where left-wing policies destroyed the economy.
I was lucky. Not everyone was.
The secret that every immigrant knows is that you can go backwards. Social mobility can go both ways. That’s why I have such a visceral reaction to bad policy. It destroys lives.

Still reeling from this horrific evidence from Prof John Edmunds at the Covid Inquiry yesterday.
In refusing to lockdown in autumn 2020, Boris Johnson was responsible for up to 25,000 Covid deaths by ignoring the experts & evidence.

I’ve tried to be fair but if we now face tax hikes & cuts to public services to fill a £20bn black hole in the public finances we must have an honest discussion about the negative impact of Brexit & the role it has played in creating it

We saw this with the Conservative party in our recent election where Rishi Sunak would use words like 'surrender' if people chose to 'vote' for Keir Starmer
And we see this now in the US where a former president, Trump, trying to reelect himself as president, is telling lies about the current US vice president who is trying to be elected as president, saying that she doesn't support Christmas
Countries prosper only when politics shifts from personal enrichments towards public service

My sister retired from teaching today after 38 years in the classroom in one school. No one from SLT spoke to her. No staff gathering organised at all. A card - that’s it. She dedicated herself to her craft. Turned down promotions. Wanted to be a great history teacher. 1/2
