Saddened by the passing of Elijah Kinyanjui Wakibara, an influential blogger and communication professional who used digital platforms to shape social and political discourse in Nakuru and beyond. I remember Elijah as a mentor to many young people in citizen and digital journalism, empowering a generation to use digital platforms to inform, engage and inspire society. Through the influential “Nakuru Analysts” platform, he helped put Nakuru on the national map by creating a space for public engagement, debate and civic awareness. Though we had our ups and downs, Elijah always stood firmly for what he believed in, however unpopular. He will be remembered for championing digital platforms as tools for social change and for consistently being a voice for the voiceless. My heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues and all whose lives he touched. May God grant them comfort and strength during this difficult time, and may Elijah’s soul rest in eternal peace.
