@Lems_88 @mlwjrpg This is what jealous Cloud looks like. Not saying Cloud couldn’t be jealous in the other scene but he is much more expressive here

Cloud doesn't have to say he's jealous...the game doesn't have to "say" he's jealous. The game shows you that he is jealous. The line is actually more aggressive in JP when you don't ignore context and nuance. I explained in one of my videos about this entire scene.

@Lems_88 I got it. It was a pain in the a** to get it but I wanted to know the full story so bad and pushed through in the end. i think it was worth it. Same for clearing all the Shinra Manager Mini Games just to see Cloud Breakdance 🤣

I was looking at the trophy in FF7 rebirth. And only 17% of player actually got the Gilgamesh trophy… nobody wanted to find out what all those prototelics were for…

It seems the level of trust is quite different depending of the girls

@KenMastersUSA @HoRRiiBLe1919 Agreed. Although I prefer the darker theme of FF7. IMO the characters are also more interesting & relatable I love X, it is everything Final Fantasy represents in terms of story and universe. But yeah, If Rikku was a possible love interest or Shuyin…people would rage about it

@HoRRiiBLe1919 Arguing in general keeps the fandom going. That's why FF7's fandom online dwarfs FFX, arguably the superior game in almost every respect. People have been arguing about it's ambiguity for years.. with FFX there's not much to discuss because everyone generally agrees.

Shippers improve the FF7 fandom more than they harm it; and have helped keep it going for 30 years.

@Lems_88 @mlwjrpg This isn’t really relevant but I just realized Tifa’s last words to Zack were that she hates him. I wonder if she regrets saying that, and if it will be touched on in Revelation

@Danomite_Dan @mlwjrpg What he meant by character development : Cloud always put on a facade. “I am not interested” is his catch phrase. Cloud in this scene clearly cared and voiced it (even though it came out clumsy) instead of just his usual “I don’t care/not interested” = character development

Let me elaborate because you are correct, they aren’t contrary. What seems contrary to me is in the video, Cloud is described as acting out of character, selfishly wanting Aerith to forget Zack, acting aggressively and with no regards for her feelings. But then towards then end of the video this sentiment is toned way back, saying this was character development for Cloud, and Cloud wasn’t actually acting aggressively, he just came off that way. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t this mean Cloud’s character developed negatively? If his out of character actions were interpreted as basically horrible, and this was his character developing, that leads to Cloud being kind of a terrible person. Not to mention, the entire affinity scene with Aerith starts with Cloud trying to lift Aerith’s spirits. He says it was good for Zack’s parents to get it out. In Cloud’s mind, their son is long dead. Cloud could be a little jealous of Aerith when he asked if she still likes Zack. But that doesn’t make him some selfish aggressive person. His statement about Zack being crazy to abandon Aerith is a compliment to Aerith but comes across more surprising only because Aerith and Tifa, as well as the audience know what type of person Zack is. Also, it’s pretty obvious Aerith and Tifa heavily suspect Cloud of knowing Zack at this point

@Lems_88 @KenMastersUSA I agree with that and I think the toxicity does push a lot of people away. Ive met so many great shippers though that value conversation, connection and community building. There's gotta be more people like that. ♡

@Ahleckss @KenMastersUSA Putting up a facade to blend in, trying to be a cool kid. But being very insecured deep inside. Looking back, I believe most kids knew this feeling at one point in their life, to a certain degree. We could resonate with cloud’s feeling easily.

@Ahleckss @KenMastersUSA I don’t remember any video game characters from this period being so unperfect, vulnerable and human… Cloud insecurities really struck me. Because I was a child who had to move from town to town every few years. Trying to blend into groups of kids who knew each others for years
