Gaston County high school student: "If you vote to keep [the Confederate statue], my generation will remove it and your generation will go down as the one that fought to uphold a racist system." Man, I miss my HS classroom!

What a shame and sham that Trump can still run for president as a felon while most incarcerated felons can't vote at all.

@erichoke Bottom line: acknowledge that they are not attending to “be in community,” “hear the Word,” or for whatever other reason you’ve convinced yourself they’re there. They are there because persons who attend church are often great targets for their scheme.

What do you when you’re a pastor in a church and a member is deep into a pyramid scheme? So much so that when you say they can’t present it to the church, they think you’re forsaking God’s will for the community? Asking for a friend 👀

@kkramermcginnis I still have no idea how this book is going to end. Trusting I’ll figure it out when I get there. And I guarantee my editor will still say he has no clue what this chapter is about. 😂

12k words into a 9k-word chapter (I know🙄)& I think I just figured out what this ch is about. Maybe. Almost. I don't think many people realize how much academic histories take shape as we write. So much time fumbling through sources, revising arguments in light of evidence.

One of the challenges to writing and teaching about racism is getting people to understand that what we see is not race. Rather, it's how power via laws (racism) gives meaning to phenotypical features producing what we see as "race."

There’s nothing like attending academic conferences to make you question your ability to remember faces & names of people you’ve met before but just don’t how🤔 Nevertheless, glad to be @NARSTorg 2023 conference! #NARST23
