Let me help you tell the complete story @PierrePoilievre. Here is the complete factual breakdown regarding Canada's resource production, recent federal policies, and G7 economic growth.
The Resource Engine 👇
Canada holds significant reserves and operates as a major global producer across multiple sectors. ✅
Water & Power: Canada holds roughly 7% of the world's renewable freshwater and ranks as the 3rd largest global producer of hydroelectricity.
Minerals & Energy: Canada produces approximately 33% of the global potash supply.
Canada holds the 4th largest proven oil reserves. Following the completion of the Trans Mountain expansion in May 2024, Canadian crude oil production and exports hit historic highs. Average production reached a record 5.13 million barrels per day in 2024 and grew to 5.19 million barrels per day in the first half of 2025, allowing West Coast crude exports to nearly double over the year.
Canada possesses the 4th largest uranium reserves and is the 2nd largest active producer globally.
Canada ranks in the top five for gold production, sits 6th in active nickel production, and actively supplies 10 of 12 NATO defence minerals.
The Policy Action 👇
During his first year in office, @MarkJCarney 's administration enacted policies specifically targeting these sectors. The administration launched the "First and Last Mile Fund" to build out critical mineral supply chains. The government passed legislation implementing a "One Project, One Review" system to reduce federal approval times from five years to two.
The administration also doubled the Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program to $10 billion to spur resource development and secured a major critical minerals agreement with India.
GDP and G7 Standing 👇
The shared chart displays the economic data for Q4 2025. During that three month period, new U.S. tariffs forced manufacturers into a ⚠️ massive inventory drawdown, resulting in a 0.6% economic contraction.
The twelve month data provides the annual economic performance. Canada’s real GDP grew by 1.7% for the full year of 2025. This rate places Canada second among G7 economies for the year.
Here is the complete 2025 annual growth breakdown for all G7 economies:
United States: 2.2%
Canada: 1.7%
United Kingdom: 1.3%
Japan: 1.1%
France: 0.7%
Italy: 0.5%
Germany: 0.3%

Terry, please allow me to give you data re Alberta:
We are older & sicker today.
1992 - 11,700 hospital beds for 2.7 million (4.3 beds/1000 population)
Mid 1990’s: 1000 bed hospital blown up in YYC and holy cross & grace hospital sold AND 1500 beds closed in Edmonton
Today:
- 8800 beds/5 million = 1.76/1000
- Of this beds: 1200-1400 fragile seniors plugging those beds (ALC)
- of those, half of the province’s ALC are in YEG
- YEG serves a massively underserviced north
Hence the ER & acute care crisis
Europe average: 4.2 beds/1000 with robust primary care, prevention & community care system for the elderly
Our problems are long standing & structural

Alberta population 1980 2 million when last hospital built. Population now is 5 million.

The negative impacts of coal mining aren't a hypothetical, they are happening in real time.
We can't afford to let this happen in the eastern slopes.
Our province deserves better. Share this post, sign the petition and sign up to canvass.

Let’s tell the whole story about what you just voted against, because your post conveniently leaves out the most important facts.
You claim the government removed "Criminal Code protections on faith." Let's name the actual law you are defending: Section 319(3)(b) of the Criminal Code. >
👉 This wasn't a protection for everyday believers, rather it was a literal legal loophole that allowed individuals to defend the wilful promotion of hatred in court simply by claiming, "I was just expressing an opinion based on a religious text in good faith."
In order to finally close that hate speech loophole, Parliament passed Bill C-9 (The Combatting Hate Act). This is the exact same bill that makes it a specific criminal offence to intimidate, obstruct, or harass people trying to access their synagogues, mosques, and churches.
👉 By voting NAY, you voted to preserve a legal "get out of jail free" card for hate speech, while simultaneously voting against a bill that gives law enforcement the actual tools they need to arrest people who are terrorizing religious communities.
👉 Closing a loophole for hate speech absolutely makes Canadians safer. Leaving out half the story doesn't.

Another Day, Another Scandal
This wasn’t known before today.
The government changed how public funds were paid out - and routed $38 million through a lawyer connected to other ongoing government scandals.
Same network. Same names. More money.
Albertans deserve to know:
- Why the rules were changed
- Who approved it
- And how much money actually reached its destination
I raised this in the Legislature today.
Watch what happens next.
