The bird's song that Lestat keeps hearing Paul was the FIRST among all these characters to hear it.I feel like the meaning of that "brid song" is going to expand even more later on. --- Also,in S3EP2, when Lestat was a kid, that monk at the monastery said: "The boy possesses an ability to envision the unseen, the holy." Paul had that same gift.He could see beyond,he could sense the supernatural. That bird's song he heard might not have been madness at all. --- And here's the thing, it MATTERS that it was Paul who said that line.Because Paul was also the last person Louis ever said "I love you" to. After Paul died Louis never said those words directly to anyone again.(that "love of my life" line at S1 doesn't count,bcs that is a lie) I think Louis is literally afraid to say "I love you" out loud anymore bcs the last time he said it,the cost was too damn high. --- Also that S1 conversation between Louis and Paul abt Lestat,Paul told him: "He is here to take SOULS. He told me so." And now we have the whole soul concept coming back in the finale.That's a direct callback. --- And this season they've planted SO many seeds for Lestat becoming the Prince later on. His influence-both in the vampire world and the human world,built up through this rockstar era. His childhood gift for sensing the supernatural. Amel, the bird's song, the recurring dreams, seeing the silver threads,and the whole soul lore. and of course the Queen,it's all setting up The Tale of the Body Thief and his eventual rise as the Vampire Prince. It’s surprising that this needs to be made clear. This season wasn’t just about Lestat, it was about the abuse (specifically the CSA) abuse he suffered. In light of that theme, I really like how this s walk focused on Loustat’s chemistry outside of sex.

Ok I watched it… It’s completely different from what I would have imagined. I loved Lestat, Louis and Loustat. I loved Armand. Can’t wait for the season 4 renewal announcement and I hope the people who said they were leaving will really leave this time.
